Perhaps you didn't consider that when you use a notebook.. the distance between you and the LCD is a lot nearer than that of using a desktop LCD monitor.

I actually know from experience, my old alienware lappy had a resolution of 1600x1200 on a similarly sized screen. And 3 years ago, it was just not feasible to run 1600x1200 for gaming on a midrange dedicated graphics card. It's not comfortable at all, small text for standard use even at the largest pixel pitch, less than ideal frame rates at such high resolutions, blurry pictures when running games below the native resolution.

Modern games are getting to the point when a 7950gtx will dip below a minimum of 25fps at 1920x1200 resolution. Not to mention 1920x1200 is the standard resolution for a 24" monitor, imagine shrinking that to the size of a 17"

Also, if you're staring too closely at a laptop, it means either your eyes are bad or you're sitting too closely with a bad posture.

To each their own then... I have a fair share of mucking around with 17" WUXGA screens as well and I find them quite practical.

Aiyoooooooooooo all these gaming laptops same as the Clevo lar. U all never notice the chassis is the same kar? Just different companies rebranding it only. Also, the sager site is pathethically out of date. Vista dont support SLi is like 10 years ago. laugh.gif

Clevo is history for Alienware. Alienware don't use Clevo anymore since like last year. They been using Arima, and sad to tell Alienware is the only manufacturer that carries it.

My sig from notebookreview will explain alot more about it, just to assure it's fact, more than comments or opinions.

Or just search some of my posts explain more details bout it if ur interested, on laptop and mobility threads of course.

If I have the money to get this, I might as well get a good desktop for gaming.
