U mean my steering should feel lighter at high speed ? No, my tyres are even and they look fine.
No, I mean your steering at high speed driving should not feel lighter , but harder .
What you describe with your volvo is something undesirable which OEMs' has had overcome with newer steering 'technology' a long long while ago .
It is good to know your tyre wear pattern has been even . Anyway, I suspect your vehicle caster angles has (typically) since 'lari' in 18 year usage and the caster angles has become less 'positive' or more 'neutral/negative' which you may check in your next brand new front tyre replacement.
Meanwhile , you may wish to ensure front tyre pressure is kept low at OEM specified 200-220 kpa and not 260-280 kpa (though within spec) .
Btw, what is the front tyre pressure reading vs front door pillar recommended tyre pressure ?
