I've been wanting to get into rock climbing but I don't have any friends that have the knowhow. I know there's a course in Camp5 1utama...is that a good place to start?

Do I need any equipments? My plan is to just climb rocks outdoors for the scenery.

You can check out Camp5, they are in various locations now not just 1U. Will give you basic ropes course and techniques needed to climb safely.

In terms of equipment yes of course you will need a lot of equipment (ropes, harness, shoes, chalk bag, belay device etc) which means I would recommend you join a climbing tour so they will provide all the stuff you need for a fee rather than you buying it all since you have not climbed before.
