you just address them by the full pronunciation

as in Dr ~ Doctor Chan

Ir~ Engineer Chan

in Mandarin, we address each other as 工for 工程师，if his surname is Chan, it would be 陈工

That is really quite a mouthful. People do go around calling medical doctors, Doctors. But so far I haven't seen any other professions (lawyers, engineers, architects, chemists) being accorded that privilege.

There are so many STEM based professions. How about for technologists and scientists?

This title is suited for technologists/scientists jobs such as designers, technical specialists, chemists, biologists, statistician and physicists?

Dr for medical line
Ir for Chartered engineers

Usually those people who gila title type are very corrupt minded people. Dealing with these type of people needs extra caution.
