Guys,im planning to buy dis great phone but i need to know sumthing.I surfed wikipedia n it says dat dis HP can be used as a 3G modem. Is it true?does dat mean dat,if i subscribe to 3G,i can connect da HP to a laptop,n can surf da net using my laptop at any 3G coverage area?  icon_question.gif
The phone has a standard minimum user-available internal memory capacity of 64 MB. The external memory capacity can be extended by using a Memory Stick Micro M2, intended to support both the camera and the media player function of the phone. The phone can be connected to a computer for data transfer and recharging by using either the built-in Bluetooth wireless or the supplied USB data cable, which connects to the phone using Sony Ericsson's proprietary FastPort connector, which is located on the bottom of the phone. The phone can also be used as a Bluetooth or USB GPRS/3G modem.

Of course it can. I've been used it as modem almost a year now. i'm heavy internet user. But what i discover about this phone, when you used it as modem for a long period let say more than 15hours, sometimes it will DC itself and refuse to connect. Not because of the Celcom/Maxis 3G/gprs line. it is the phone itself. You need to put it into rest first about 1-2hours and start again. maybe the new firmware will not cause this but i refuse to upgrade since is already satisfied with this one. Use usb cable is better than bluetooth because the connection last longer in usb cable.

BTW, i need to know whether someone here has replace their battery with newer one. i need one but i scared to buy imitation one. i'm looking for ori BST-33 either AP ori or midland one. can somebody tell me where can i find it.

oh shi~

guys, i have a problem. i can't seem to open my received MMS's. when i receive them, the small message icon on the left in the inbox is supposed to be a small yellow message and a green right arrow right? unsure.gif

well mine's white and when i try to open it, it says "phone memory full" and asks me to delete some files. the irony of it is, all 68MB of memory is free. but it still won't open.

any help will be greatly appreciated. smile.gif

when was this start to happen? it is not good a good suggestion but do this if other method cannot solve the problem. try reset it to factory setting. first try reset setting and if cannot, do full reset. but full reset will erase anything (contact, sms, save picture and etc.) so proceed with caution. As i said, this will not really work but worth a try before you hand it over to that ap company.

MMS's were fine until my friend sent me one yesterday. it seems awkward as i was previously able to receive them..

anyway, i'd do some backup's and follow your method. BTW, how do you initiate full reset? unsure.gif if it don't work, off to the shop it goes..

thanks. smile.gif

p/s : anyone has other theories/methods/solutions you would like to share? smile.gif

i think you can make backup like your contact using My phone explorer. It is good program for SE phone. To do full reset... go to settings --> general tab --> master reset. you can choose either reset setting or reset all. try reset setting first. it won't delete the contact and all the sms saved in the phone. If it fail then you do the reset all. you need phone lock code to to the reset all. The initial lock code if i'm not mistaken is "0000" (not really sure you have to confirm with someone else). I afraid that your lock code has been changed cause it is AP set. so procedd with caution. i think if 3 time put wrong code, you phone will be lock and cannot use. You need to find someone that capable of unlocking phone to unlock it back. I have list all the detail an consequences. i hope you proceed with caution. please don't blame me later smile.gif

this may sound silly but you can experiment like delete all the sms, mms or even change to other simcard and see whether can receive mms or not. experiment yourself. smile.gif probably your friend's mms contains big file that exceed the buffer level of the phone for mms just my silly guest.
