Hmmm, I wonder if you're not fussed about having the new model, whether you could pick up a 605 at a very low clearance price.

Be careful about the Onkyo power ratings. The sneaky buggers tend to quote their power rating into 6ohms rather than the usual 8ohms, and only 1 channel driven.
Like here, if you don't know better, you see the 175watts power rating also you get damn steam already... http://www.intl.onkyo.com/products/av_comp...r606/index.html This post has been edited by Audio Nirvana: Apr 14 2008, 04:25 PM |

QUOTE(mys_terious @ Apr 16 2008, 09:15 AM) i also wanna support onkyo but the price like that how to support unless buy from sg... actually i have taken taxi from jb to sg 5 times already for the past 3 months.. the custom nvr checked my bag ..not even once.. just dont know when will my next trip be nia..i tihnk at least another 2 months I wonder if there's more chance to get away with it if you put it in a large suitcase and wheeled it by foot over the causeway, or perhaps go across by bus. I'm just thinking that the customs officers would discriminate against people using this mode of transport (ie. foot and bus) and make the assumption that they couldn't really afford to buy anything valuable anyway. |

To attract even less attention, can stick the Onkyo into those red/blue/white striped carry bags.

QUOTE(rx330 @ Apr 16 2008, 10:15 AM) True also. All those old methods of getting the shop to write down the price of the equipment in the receipt is pretty useless, because the customs officer will check whether the stated price is reasonable or not by searching on the internet.I wonder if you just conveniently leave a RM50 note on top of the Onkyo box in your boot, whether can work or not? What would be funny is if the customs officer suddenly turned around and said "Aiyo, kenapa you beli Onkyo 605? Onkyo 606 sudah keluar lah. Tapi saya lebih suka Yamaha RXV-1800".

Better to avoid speakers with too many drivers like this. Much better to have only 2 mid/bass drivers at most.

"New" from NAD. For GBP900, you get 5.1 channels, 5 x 80 watts, and no HD decoding. Wow!

QUOTE(yed @ Apr 30 2008, 10:07 AM) i only noticed the difference is the movie streaming. the rest it the same with 875..but the price.. It's not just in the specs, functions and features. It's the quality of the sound that it'll deliver to your speakers. If say like that, Denon stereo amplifier would be better than Krell, since it has more functions and more buttons to press.
