yup, that one i know....tomolo i will go compare the PQ that came from HD HTpj and multimedia pj, i see the difference first then only decide which one to go...

QUOTE(htkaki @ Apr 22 2008, 04:42 PM)
since you could afford 875, I suggest you go for HD HTpj and not multimedia pj, which is a waste.

for me, all those feature will changing the ori source of the music / video...so the music / video will not become not so pure already...for me, this is not so good....example, cd music vs mp3...i will choose cd music cos the source come out is pure like studio recording..

QUOTE(clngu @ Apr 28 2008, 08:26 AM)
I believe Denon 3808, Onkyo 875, Marantz 7002, Yamaha 3800, Pioneer LX70 ... all are very good AVR ... am went to few hifi shops ... some owners said Denon, some said Pioneer, some said Onkyo, etc  ... so in the end is based on your individual preference

I tested Denon 3808, Onkyo 875, Pioneer LX70 with different types of room setup, different brands of speaker, cable, blu-ray player, and different categories of blu-ray movie ... all the AVR was able to do very well, the only different was features

to me I choose between Denon 3808 and Pioneer LX70 ... if got money ... Denon 4308 or Pioneer LX90

Added on April 28, 2008, 8:44 amguy, here got another 1 tip for onkyo 875 & 905 user...press & hold the "display" button about 5 to 10 sec on the remote control, then u will able to control the REON function like brightness, contrast, tint n so on...enjoy!

agree with this!

QUOTE(JonC @ Apr 28 2008, 11:45 AM)
Good advice mate. HT amps tend to be more dynamic for the extra ummmph while watching movies. Hi-fi amps tend to be more quiet and warm. So when you play music through an HT amp, some might find the sound abit too "noisy" as in too much bass or the highs too loud. Some say "no feel" due to lack of warmth. No such thing as best of both world lor.

Sometimes buying the most exp amps and speakers won't guarantee you the best performance as you'll need to match the equipments correctly so they compliment each other. Tuning the amp and the accoustics of the listening room is very important also as some has mentioned.

Added on April 28, 2008, 11:48 amfor me. denon & onkyo sound quite same...but for me,pioneer sound not clear as denon & onkyo..but the bass is good

right,Hwee Seng is the distributor. CMY is only the dealer....every model onkyo u buy at malaysia & singapore, if u wanna claim warranty n doing firmware upgrade must be go to them.

I thought Hwee Seng is the distributor. CMY is only the dealer. Wonder Ah Wai can do the firmware upgrade or not.
