Hi all,

Need your opinion/insight between this 2 model robot vacum.
Xiaomi g1 or 1c.

I'm living in a low cost apartment with 2 bedroom(1 master+ 1 smaller), 1 bathroom, and a small kitchen.
Looking for a robot vacum to reduce my chore work(vacum+mop).
Based on my research, people said that robot vacum usually only last for around 2 years due to battery degradation and lack of replacement availability.

Due to useful life, im not willing to spend big hence my budget is below rm 1000. The g1 is around rm 580 while 1c is around rm 680.
Do you feel that the g1 would be good enough for my usage? Or there's enough upgrade to warrant the rm 100 different for the 1c?
So far from what i can gather, the only significant different from these 2 model is there is no recharge and resume for the g1(is it true?)

Both of these model dont have lidar sensor, would these really contribute to much different? Usually robot vacum with lidar sensor cost alot more.

May i know why would it be waste of time? The 1c have visual sensor for mapping purposes. Not sure whether that's good enough

For a small apartment, it's fine if that's your budget. I would pick the 1C over the G1, because of virtual walls, and zoned cleaning. For example, the bathrooms are no-go areas, so you can simply set a virtual wall at the door. 1C is also more accurate.

noted. if the 1c got mapping function, i guess is also ok.
price is cheaper than 1s by double. i guess can compromise.

My personal experience:
Before starting the robot, I have to re-arrange the chairs and make sure there are no dangling cables.
After vacuuming, I re-arrange back the chairs and clean the dustbin and filter.
In areas not accessible by the robot, e.g. corner, I still have to sweep the floor.

In the end, not much time saved compared to sweeping the floor.

However, vacuuming picks up more dust compared to sweeping.
