BLON BL-03

Blon BL-03 was introduced late last year and within a short time has generated excellent review for the brand name BLON. "Impressed" is the word I would described for the BL-03 for its natural authentic sounding IEM that the cliche "Price to Performance" ratio which is always used to hype new product is not a exaggeration but truly deserved the moniker for Best Buy under under USD30 and now even cheaper from AK Audio Store from Aliexpress for USD25- 27 - my go-to store to buy IEM.

Introduction

BLON BL-03 has become one of my favorite IEM though it was released last August 2019 iirc but only got it this month when a new colour(Purple) was introduced while the older version has two colour option (Silver and Gunmetal or Brown). The design is unique compared to current offering of Chi Fi design that look generic for example KZ, TRN or CCA with its Kirsite Mirror Polished Metal Shell teardrop shape. It does have some weight to it which makes it look and feel premium imho but the cable need to go as it gets tangle easily with ear hook too stiff to get a good fit and isolation . Replacement cable is highly recommended and tested with pure cooper cable - definitely huge improvement and fitting wise is important to get the best out of BL-03. Its the perfect poison pill to the world of IEM and the perfect reason of "why not ! its not that expensive and one can never have too many IEM.

Sound

BL-03 has definitely set high barrier for other IEM brand's future offering especially in this crowded market of budget of IEM under USD50. The thousands of IEM that can be found at Aliexpress just by doing a search will generate whole list of brands and types that will floor anyone with the intention of buying an IEM. With that said " how many really made it out" with the kind of accolade that BL-03 has garnered and that also apply to established brands - so its fair game for every brands to really stand out with tuning that have that "X" factor .

BL-03 is also not a flagship killer that some has claimed so as not to set a high expectation because its not a technical or detailed IEM or awesome sound stage or positioning . The bass is wee bit bloated and does overlap into the mid range which actually color the overall sound of BL-03. The bass attack is not the fastest but does well enough to keep up with the rest of the spectrum.


WHY BLON BL-03 is GOOD!

Sometimes music listening is about enjoying your MUZIK and immersed in it and not about analyzing why the bass mid and treble is good or bad. BL-03 is one IEM that makes me forget what's happening around me and really gets me into what I'm listening to and this is what makes BL-03 shines above everything else. I was talking with my friend about BL-03 and asked me to describe how it sound before putting it on - " Its makes the music sound exciting, alive and organic , analogue , juicy and thick like a MILF" He asked why " MILF" - replied its not a super model like thin and too perfect but MILF- like with all the right curve in the right places and good time ensues.

Overall sound signature is warm with the right amount bass and sub bass rumble that complement the mid range which surprisingly exhibit good amount of body and the tone is just beautiful. The vocal reflected is well done as if the singer is one step ahead of the band with enough zest and control to march well with overall sound. Female vocal sounds more prominent compared to male vocal but maybe i'm nitpicking over this.

The high is not overly done and the tuning on sparkle and air is imho just done right in the overall mix with good width in term of sound stage - not so much depth though. Imaging and position is above average and clear enough to hear the separation between the instruments.

Rounding off them is just how well the tonality of BL-03 is presented and sounding natural . The tone of BL-03 reproduction is top notch where every instrument sounds "REAL" and that factor where this IEM tells you to enjoy MUZIK solely for its pleasure it brings.

All this impression is based on its price to performance and it may not be everybody cup of tea especially those who is looking for technical or detail capabilities. Its a fun sounding IEM that will brings many hours of fun and will appeal to many.

Conclusion

I'm not going to put in my 2 cents on how good this BL-03 sounds but only this " GET IT and ENJOY YOUR MUZIK"
