Hi All
I have 2015 Preve Executive CVT. On Dec 2019 the odo already clocked 120k km. Now already 128k km. Yes, i do travel a lot in these 5 years (not grab). The car didnt give me any major problem. Love the car for its spaciousness, safety and comfortable on long journey. It is very reliable to me though. Fyi, i drive the car daily to work (70km daily)
So far this is what i have replaced since 2019 till now
Tayar front - 2020. RM700
Absorber, mount, bush - 2020 RM900
Tayar front. 2019 RM700
Service aircond, 2019
Cvt service, 2019
Engine mount, 2019
Fuel filter 2019
Bateri, 2019
Front brake disc & pad , 2019
Belt - 2019.
Oxygen sensor, 2020
This needs to replace/service soon:
Noisy drive belt tensioner
Absorber link front and rear
Hope u get the picture how much did i spend these past few years.
Anyway my points is for my situation, who travel alot and relying on the car so much, is it worth it to continue maintaining the car? Or should i stop it right now and wait til next year and change to new car? Loan will finish in less than 2 years fyi. And the resale value minus loan balance is enough for at least 15 percent of d/p of the next 55k car.
I have the idea of for someone like me who travel a lot, that instead of sticking to only one car, and keep maintaining it for years, change car often (cheap below 55k) to save on the maintenance. Coz new car under 5 years can claim warranty. Isnt it more cost saving?
I keep hearing people saying
Is the like of Honda or Toyota worth keeping up more than 5 years after warranty finish too? (I have a doubt on this).
So my idea is to change cheap car below rm55k, put high d/p that u can rpay loan max 5 years for not more than rm600.
Thinking of Persona Exec, i dont mind downgrading at all. Coz nowadays i think make more sense to drive a B segment car instead of C sedan as B segment sedan nowadays are getting bigger. Persona boot is bigger than Preve. For example. Nowadays i prefer comfort drive, no more spirited drive though for the last 3 years. At most i drive 120kmph on highway.
What do you guys think. Thanks in advance
