I got a few question :

1) Do you turn off your main water valve if you have a water heater installed?
2) The water heater + pump just slightly increase the water pressure, how can I get the shower pressure like the one in the hotels?
3) For service apartment/condo, do you use instant water heater/storage water heater?

So far landed house shower with instant water heater, can't get the hotel type shower experience. I wonder if service apartment is any different or if you need to install some special pump? If so, how do you install it for those staying in service apartment?

1.) It is not necessary.
2.) You will need a storage water heater and a Grundfos branded booster pump.
3.) I have a storage heater for my studio.

The water pressure at a service apartment or condo is usually much stronger than a landed house. I will be installing this particular shower head and good enough for a 24 inch rain shower which is what I am using.

As for using an instant water heater? It would not be a possibility.

So for your studio apartment, you use storage water heater + booster pump?

Yes. However it is only done so because I choose to have an extra large rain shower head.

If I opted for a smaller head then a pump would not be necessary.

If you're okay with small shower head, instant water heater with built-in pump is enough. Else, you'll need a water heater storage and a pump. It'll need to be installed above your ceiling.

1. No need. The plastic valve/filter below WH (or push start button) is easier to replace than trying to hack out the concealed valve tap in the wall if that wears out doh.gif
2. You will need an external pump to suck water from your water tank. A 200W or higher pump is recommended esp if you wanna use rain shower. Shallow well automatic type is good enough. Their meaning of shallow well is around 2 storeys (8-9m) biggrin.gif recommend to get a Hitachi or other decent one. You will need better rated piping for the part under pressure (output from pump to shower head). The developer installed stuff will leak in a week coz it was not designed to be under high pressure.
3. Instant WH is good enough coz the water from rooftop tank is kept pressurised. I take bath with near max temperature to give you an idea of the flow rate..sometimes at night gotta reduce the flow because water cannot heat up fast enough. Service apartment and condo should be the same in terms of piping design...only the paperwork is different.
