QUOTE(cybpsych @ Aug 25 2021, 02:40 PM) yes, your cb is capped to RM50 due to previous statement balance <RM3k So is it means every month the spending should be at least RM3080 because in the end, RM80 (cashback) will be taken out from the equation?this month's statement balance >RM3k, so this increase your next month's cb capping to RM80 the general flow is like this ![]() |

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Aug 26 2021, 10:58 AM) Simply put. You apply BT from Bank A say RM10K stating which credit card you want this amount to transfer to, say credit card of Bank B. Once approved, Bank A will transfer RM10K lump sum to credit card of Bank B to pay your statement. You’ll then have to pay Bank A monthly installment based on the length of BT you selected, for example 6 months, 9 months, 12 months etc. So this helps you spread out your spending to monthly basis instead of paying RM10K one shot. Clean and clear Can utilise the 0% BT to increase the monthly spending then |

Guys, need advice from you guys for BT (balance transfer).
I got an email for this, I never do this before and I would like to try out but not sure how to do it. There mentioned min BT amount is RM2000. I am existing cardmember. ============ If I would like to maximize it to get RM50 cb each month with only RM1667 spending. Does this mean that RM3050 - RM1667 = RM1383 <<< this is the minimum amount that I should move from other CC to Affin each month? So total minimum BT amount that I should apply is: RM1383 x12 month = RM 16,596.00 ? Then, at the BT application page, I must add the CC bank and the amount, let say I have 2 other banks' CC, then I have to do my own maths to divide the RM1383 into both CC and fill up the form? Let say the allocation would be: CC 1: RM383 CC 2: RM1000 So after I submit the above amount for both CC, Affin bank will automatically do the transfer of the above said amount from respective CC to my Affin Duo Visa card account and I will do the monthly repayment? ============ Sorry for the story and thanks for your time. Look forward for some input, any input is welcome =) Thanks. Pictures: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by michealelsie: Nov 18 2024, 12:29 PM |

QUOTE(1mr3tard3d @ Nov 18 2024, 12:38 PM) yes, you are right, the minimum application would be RM 16,596 for your purpose to have minimum monthly statement balance of RM 3,000 Thanks for your answer but you are supposed to fill in the total instead of the monthly charge (i.e. RM 4,596 & RM 12,000) they will contact you to verify with the information, explain T&C yes, the BT will be charged to your CC statement, and you just pay by the statement due date So for my case, I will fill up RM4596 for CC1, RM12000 for CCC2. Then I continue use both CC1 and CC2 up to their respective amount which are RM383 and RM1000. Affin bank will transfer all the spending from above said CC to affin card account. What if there is a month where I spend more than the preset amount, say CC1 I spent RM500, CC2 same RM1000, then Affin bank will still transfer RM383 from CC1 or Affin will transfer all CC1 outstanding balance to my Affin card account? |

QUOTE(mamamia @ Nov 18 2024, 02:48 PM) dont confuse urself.. Affin wont know what and how much is ur other bank card spending/ owing... U just need to get Affin to pay ur CC1 RM4596 & CC2 RM12000... the payment is in 1 lump sum to CC1 & CC2, then, u will have credit balance of RM4596 & RM12k in ur CC1 & CC2..(assume ur current balance in the 2 CC is 0), whatever spending u paid with CC1 or CC2 subsequently will reduce ur credit accordingly until u receive ur CC statement with debit balance which u need to pay ur statement according to ur CC due date... or in another word, treat it as u use affin CC to top up credit to ur CC1 & CC2, n u spend ur CC1 & CC2 later... QUOTE(1mr3tard3d @ Nov 18 2024, 02:48 PM) i see why you are puzzled, BT does not work that way Ah ha... now i got it, really thanks both of you for explaining.once your BT approved, RM 16,596 will be credited to the respective cc accounts (if you have no spending, it becomes negative balance/prepayment) not by instalments your CC1 or CC2 usage/payment is irrelevant to affin BT & CC however, affin cc statement will only charge RM 1,383 for 12 months (i.e. they do not correspond with each other) So I just add the CC and amount that I want for each CC that I add during the BT application. Affin will then lump sum "top up" the said amount to respective CC so that I have that kind of credit balance for me to spend over 12 months. Meanwhile at my Affin monthly statement, I will have the amount (Total amount of my application / 12 mths) billed to my affin CC monthly across 12 months span. Whatever I will spend with the other CC/s is not related to Affin, as long as I fully paid my Affin bill can ald to avoid interest charges. Right? |
