My affin duo got charged SST. But they only charge on cashback card but reward card they waived it automatically.

Anyone manage to get waiver for cashback card as well?

but not possible
and just terminated bhpetrol too to avoid sst charge

I can see the annual fee comes in on my cashback card but haven’t see the SST yet. If you say if not waiveable then I will just pay it then since I am consistently getting 80 from this card from day 1. However I have not activate my reward card and I already disposed it off today 😅😅😅

I cut them in pieces and throw away since I am not using it 😅😅

the sst "waiver" on rewards mastercard is a "promo" rebate this year.

they still wont offer sst rebate for visa cashback, even with possibility of spend condition.

Hello peeps. I'm going to apply for Affin Duo but have some concerns:

1) For those of you who use only Visa for its cashback, do you call up CS to cancel the Mastercard?

2) If Mastercard cannot be cancelled, can I just leave it there unactivated? Will there be any bad consequences?

Mastercard cannot be cancelled. Will be charged annual fee + SST even not activated. AF can be waived with 12 transactions.
Now "promo" reported is waiver on SST. So, suggest to activate.

I'm not aware of it. To be on the safe side, swipe 12 times.
Duo Master appears in the statement even not activated.
SST kicks in only after card activation.
AF would be 12 months from card issued. For example, Duo cards issued in Jan 2021, the AF will be in Dec 2021 or Jan 2022.

SST being charged in my statement. Paid the statement balance tgt with SST.
When call to call centre and ask for card cancellation, the cs say SST will not be refunded and once SST being charged to the card, even if you call for cancellation you will still have to pay for the sst.

I thought SST is charging advance and no need to pay if you cancel the card without using the card once SST being charged?
Anyone experiencing the same ?  Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, when i tell this to cs. CS say "Affin have their own tnc for SST". However, cs say will proceed cancellation and seek for mgmt approval to refund paid SST. Lets see how it goes. Didnt expect Affin so strict on "refund the paid sst on unused cancelled card"

The cs didnt mentioned bout retention offer at all haha but its ok for me i guess since the cashback i getting is much lesser than Rm25. Small amount usually use ewallet and Quantum when above Rm30

The only reason I'm keeping the cash back card because it has CB for insurance auto debit at 3% too not bad... or is there a better option out there?

Got SST charged for my VS and I haven’t been using this card actively so proceeded to cancel it. Since Affin also cannot give me any SST rebate then no point of keeping it.

i received both cards. can i just activate the cashback card only.

If we cancel the card, do we still need to pay for the SST? Cause we completed 1 year
