If worried, then go for this:

This is my understanding,

Monthly spending = Amount which you spent during the month

Outstanding balance = This should be equal to meaning of 'Statement Balance'. Some people tend to pay partial amount of they spent, before the monthly statement is generated

Overdue balance ( 20days after statement date ) = Amount outstanding after due date which will be charged interest

The current practice of cashback given by Affin is based on Monthly spending. As long as you fulfilled their criteria of the spending, you will gain 3% cashback. This is irregardless if you clear the payment before or after the Statement Date.

Some people tend to clear/partially pay their spending before the statement is generated. As per current policy, they are still entitled to the 3% in full since the % cash back earned is based on monthly spending.

Since their term will be changed to outstanding balance , this means whatever amount which you have paid earlier than 'Statement Date', you will not be entitled for the cash back. It should be remained as Outstanding as per Statement Date generated of at least spending of RM3k in order to gain the max RM80 of cash back. It does not mean they will charge you 18% of interest and then giving you back the 3% cash back.
*
Affin Duo CB is based on statement month, just to be clear.

QUOTE(flashy4896 @ May 17 2021, 08:50 PM)
if in this case, pay on time = no CB, pay after due date = get CB?
*
What do you mean no CB? There are two categories la.

the term outstanding balance very confusing. both categories also have the term outstanding balance.

if outstanding balance (any amount) = statement balance and i pay on time, i will entitle CB as well?
*
No one has any idea for now. Even CS too. Still plenty of time for them to make things clear. No need to speculate until then.

I noticed I haven't been using my Duo that much in the recent statement cycle.

I saw posts mentioning spend RM 1667 and get RM 50 right? Still not too bad. Otherwise, which card still gives cash back for insurance auto-debit besides SCB JOP or MBB FCB VS?

Looks like I have no other option but to stick with Duo for insurance auto-debit.
*
I am sticking to Duo for insurance auto-debit, FCB VS 1% just can't beat it. The RM50 cap for the <3000 is sufficient for my usage.

QUOTE(Darren @ May 18 2021, 10:30 AM)
i try search online but i cant get the new tnc....
any link can share?

i wonder the new cashback tnc is the based on spending posted date o statement date...

Same here but minimum usage is RM 1667 to get RM 50 right? If lower than that no cash back, correct?
My auto-debit is very little amount only and yeah FCB VS just can't beat it so I have cancelled it last month.
*
Eh no, I dont see any minimum usage requirement.

With the revision, probably I want to cancel the card. But I still have the Cash-on-call and BT outstanding.

Did anyone tried to clear all outstanding before cancel the card before? It is not shown in the statement so I guess I need call them to clear then only cancel?
*
Check with the bank first if there is any early settlement fee.

Also, do remember to state the reason of cancellation.

a. The Cardmember terminates or discontinues the BTiP by making full payment within the BTiP tenure.
b. The Cardmember cancels his/her AFFINBANK Credit Card within the BTiP tenure.

loophole is can take advantage of all the BTs/CIPs since it would be accumulated into the "previous balance"
*
I won't call it a loophole biggrin.gif

Now so clear already, Previous Balance is stated at the statement. Mo more outstanding balance nonsense.

outstanding on statement not same as previous balance?
*
The term Outstanding Balance is not found anywhere within the statement. It appears at online portal but it gives the total sum of all outstanding (including total BT). So this Previous Balance now refers specifically to the previous month.

QUOTE(LemonJane @ May 20 2021, 04:23 PM)
The way I see it, Affin wants our retail spend business, and also balance transfer & cash-on-call business!
*
If they can maintain the 0% offer, I don't think that is a bad thing. Win-win

If we were to put it in layman terms, as long as we pay full on time, we won't entitle for any CB?
*
No, incorrect. Depends on the previous balance.

Got ambank true visa also RM1000 (rm30 cb)

Total monthly spent already rm4k spending for online expenses giving rm140 cb. Good liao.

I did not receive sms notification on card approval, but I received sms with offer of  cash with 0% profit if I activated my card. Does it mean my card is already approved?
*
Most likely yes then. Have you checked IVR?
