QUOTE(alandhw @ Sep 23 2020, 05:02 PM) I think bank has the control on it. I experienced with HSBC, the SST only charge once you activated the card. I think so. I have a RHB card that I don't want to activate, so far no SST charged. It's been more than a month since I received.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 24 2020, 03:09 PM) Not for approval, at least I didn't receive. I only received for additional cards approval. Oh they don't do that? May have changed to save SMS charges. Last year I received a rejection message from Affin for Mastercard Basic, the next day my daughter received her approval SMS.

QUOTE(yannjou @ Sep 30 2020, 12:02 PM) Or maybe they saw I swipe 130k Hospital bill early September. But not yet due also... Surely it hasn't been reported as O/S as CCRIS shows only up to 31/8/20 now. Can be other reason. If you have applied through an Affin rep, try ask for the reason

QUOTE(adele123 @ Oct 4 2020, 05:14 PM) Those who come to this forum are less likely to belong in the group of unable to pay back. You are talking about people who owns 10 to 20 cards and still not rugi service tax. Those who have debt management issue, funnily may not be approved with more CIP be it 0% or otherwise. Wow 10 to 20 cards? Would anyone be allowed to hold that many credit cards?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 4 2020, 05:31 PM) Why not? I have more than 25 now. BNM only has requirements for those earning below 36k to have cards from two issuing banks. Otherwise, there's no limit so long banks approve. I have 7 and I have to spend time to watch the payment due dates. How do you manage 25 cards?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 4 2020, 06:03 PM) But I don't use all every month la. Maybe just less than 10, still manageable actually. Like Affin, already 3 cards but from same bank, so same statement date. Still, must be a lot of juggling to do

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Nov 18 2020, 03:04 PM) My colleague just got the card approved after submitting an application to a bank agent on 30/09/2020. I re-applied last Tuesday, maybe only by end of month or even after that I can see some action. Looks like the bank is still clearing the backlog for last 2 months. Yes my Affin Duo is finally approved! My case goes like this - I was rejected in September but was told to try re-apply but reduce the card owing first. So I deferred some bill payments, used my husband's cards for the month's spending and pre-paid major cards by end of October. I re-submitted on 10th of November. For about 2 weeks I had the same IVR message of "Sorry your information does not match our record". 2 days ago I decided to fill up an online form to complain. Got a call early yesterday morning asking for my particulars, how I applied, when I applied etc. In September, I had a "pending" note with credit limit RM8,000 and that note disappeared after a short while, after that the rejection SMS came. So yesterday afternoon, when I saw on CCRIS the "same" pending note with credit limit of RM8,000, I thought it's gone case already. I checked IVR and the message was " Sorry, we cannot process your request". Mana tahu, this morning when I checked CCRIS again, the note was "Approved by FI"!

QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Nov 29 2020, 10:41 AM) Then why rejected on Sept... high outstanding balance? Yes I had plenty of flexible payment and balance transfer plans with other banks at that time. That's why I was told to try again in 2 months time but reduce the card owing first. I thought my total card owing/total credit limit of under 30% should be okay, but apparently they also check the total owing to the monthly income. Total owing is not just the card outstanding for the month but also the FPP, BT owing. This post has been edited by LemonJane: Nov 29 2020, 11:38 AM

QUOTE(Devil4life @ Dec 3 2020, 10:25 AM) Yesterday received a call around 7.30pm asking for verification and ask for HR contact to verify employment status. I've been having credit cards for like 10 plus years this is the first time I've been request for HR verification. Some more now CMCO most of the HR person is working from home. Then she ask for HR email. So mafan, if not because of the credit card benefits I might pull the plug and ask to cancel application Hope you will get your card approved in time, 4 weeks to go. I guess as long as we activate the card and apply for the BT and CIP over the phone before 31/12, we will not miss out? I'm waiting for my cards to be sent in to the branch, supposed to be 2 weeks after approval.

Finally, collected my Duo cards today. From information given here, I did everything necessary at the bank - applied for internet banking, activated the cards, changed pins, and logged in first time to affinonline. Today I can see my two cards listed with SST RM25 charged against the cash back card. My statement date is 14th which is a bit early but not a big problem. Have 2 more weeks to go for the zero% COC and BT.

QUOTE(Devil4life @ Dec 16 2020, 05:22 PM) I received the card today as well but haven't activate it yet. The RM25 SST not automatically waived for reward master? Have you apply for 0% COC and BT? There's a charge of RM25 as well as a reversal on the Rewards card. No I haven't done COC/BT yet. Actually I just did a live chat the affin staff who told me that with information given of name, last 4 digits of card, phone number and preferred time of call she would arrange someone to call back. As I didn't have the cards with me I told her I would get back to the chat tomorrow. She also said no multiple applications for BT so to do all cards in one application. We can use more than one form if we have more than 3 card accounts for BT (as there are only 3 lines in the form).

QUOTE(SeanJeremiah @ Dec 19 2020, 09:42 AM) Poor service from Affin card sales. After filling form on website and then sending application to customer service e-mail, I got a call from the officer after a two weeks. I had to WhatsApp the filled form to the agent again. Then after another week I got a call from another person confirming my details and asking which branch I'd like to collect from. I told them Permas Jaya branch in JB. The person didn't seem to know this branch existed... After no news for another two weeks, I call customer service to find out the application status and they told me the card had already been approved two days after the person called and has been posted to my office. When I asked them why I had not been informed either by call, email or SMS, they didn't know. When asked why had not been contacted by the courier, the person said it was sent by normal mail not registered mail. (This is credit card, not Christmas card. Where got send by normal mail...) I asked to confirm delivery address and asked how about fingerprint verification. Finally the person found that it had been delivered to Permas Jaya branch as requested. =.=" They asked me to call the branch myself and check if the card had been received by the branch. I finally go to the branch, collect the card and come home to active their online portal. Doesn't work. I call customer service and they tell me need to go to branch to activate. Asked why didn't inform when collecting, they don't know... Second time went to the bank and got everything done. The teller says I should not bother installing the Android app as it only useful for getting TACs. So much hassle for this card. But still worth the trouble, good CB. I'm smarter hahaha. I learnt about what things need to be done at the bank. Really can't expect the bank to tell us everything we need to know or do. Same with other banks. I got my RHB card this year and had to go down twice to the bank to apply for internet banking, pin change etc. This post has been edited by LemonJane: Dec 19 2020, 11:47 AM

I contacted live chat the day before about intention to apply for COC and BT. Received a call yesterday and submission is now in. The officer said the maximum number of card accounts for BT is 5 meaning can do up to 10 for the Duo cards but I did only 6 as the zero% offer is for 5k minimum. She said I can submit further BT applications, if I want, before 31/12 subject to 80% of availability.

For internet banking, this is what you do after collecting the envelopes: 1.Tell the bank staff you want to apply for internet banking. You won't get told if you don't ask. 2. You will be given a form. Open up the envelopes (both) and use any one card number on the form. 3. Find a seat inside the bank, activate both of the cards on your phone following the instructions. 4. You will get your temporary pins soon after. 5. Change pins at the bank's ATM. 6. You can now leave the bank. 7. Later on a PC (easier), open the affinonline webpage, click "first time log in" and follow the instructions for security image, challenge questions etc. You are now all done. The credit card accounts will appear only the next day.

QUOTE(wklim090 @ Jan 12 2021, 06:23 PM) Well, just received SMS that my application is not successful I called to customer service but no way to appeal... I have also been rejected previously, reapplied and got the approval. If you know the reason like in my case - high outstanding, work to improve it and re-apply after 2-3 months.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jan 17 2021, 10:48 AM) no idea until T&C is out. my guess is still eligible as long as within 12months after approval I remember they revised the multiple BT for NTB card holders (card approved within last 12 months) towards end of last year to one time only. Update: I rechecked - the revision to one-time is for existing-to-bank (card approved more than 12 months) holders. So for those of us with card approved in the last 12 months, we can enjoy multiple 0% BTs I think. This post has been edited by LemonJane: Jan 17 2021, 11:15 AM
