SV, vs the S800
Vstrom vs 800DE

they are tailored for different riders. older one for shorter legs.
800DE is tall but, less intimidating than Tiger/12xxGS IMO.

Man... that's barely RM5k short of a Triumph Trident, which is a far more modern bike.

With its parallel twin replacement coming soon, that kind of pricing is rather optimistic.

Lower end twin? As far as I know there is a huge price hole in Suzukis lineup. The 8s is 51k.

No doubt they are filling the hole with the sv and old vstrom...at least until they develop a new bike....which I dont think will be the case.

Before the price hike, SVs were 35k and the classic vstrom was 38k. Both bikes are severely dated.....unless you die die want a budget v twin.

Oh wait... the GSX-8S is the SV650 replacement. doh.gif

No wonder they're pushing the ancient SV650 for RM39k.

Yeah... Suzuki's big bike ranges starts from the 8S...if not for the older bikes.

There is still value in the SV and classic vstrom. Known reliability, v twin smooth, plenty of aftermarket parts. We've just being spoiled by KTM power delivery.

If only they updated the old vstrom .... There is a 20k gap (!!) between it and the new 800DE. Wouldn't mind the old vstrom if they got it a bit lighter, get full led lights and a TFT screen. Still a good bike.

Tested the height on both Vstrom. The DE is taller than the 650xt but for me, i will go for a bike with less electronics.

true I guess but for a smaller bike to have almost the same power with z900.. its a shame they have to stop bringing it in
market already niche enough really hard to compete
so the remaining s750 owners now have a collectors edition bike (for malaysia) laugh.gif

Suzuki is still selling the gsxr 750 so i guess the gsxs750 will still be around, just a matter if local distributor bring in or not.

you're gonna have to go for a test ride. both bike feels different and handle differently.

the new modenas versys 650 have more gadget than the vstrom.
and currently it's cheaper than the vstrom that is now selling for RM42k-44k new

but after testing both i think i prefer the vstrom as it feels lighter, easier to maneuver and felt narrower.
on the highway the versys might be better since the light handlebar is prone to wobble and quite a number of people are reporting this issue on the vstrom.
also people are reporting high speed wobble issue when the vstrom have panniers installed.

so which bike is better is purely based on your usage.
