what they do is basically extract the oils and flavors from whatever herbs roots etc then macerated before distill with alcohol so that it can last longer

its not the alcohol nor the sugar that energises you even. FYI DOM has zero sugar added, only honey is added
if you know the history of these drinks and how its produced you will then understand instead of spouting misconceptions like this
