yeah, i tested the speed of my hdd using the read speed test in device manager, the burst speed is only less than half of the theoretical speed. now i'm running in ide mode. guess i have to reformat again..
is there anyway to load the drivers from thumb drive instead of floppy? |

of coz i know sata raid drivers are for my hdd and not my gc. nvidia nforce driver packages are for nvidia motherboard chipsets. they are a separate package of the nvidia geforce gc drivers. both are totally different things all together. so you still think better to stick to the driver in the cd? tot of having updated ones..asus website a bit hopeless. very little updates for my mobo model.

QUOTE(SubKi||er @ Sep 29 2008, 07:42 PM) Yes, it is in the nForce driver package. The driver should be extracted to somewhere in C:\nVidia when you launch the setup. There is a documentation on this but you can give it a try first as its pretty obvious as it names the folder inside with SATARAID or such names. thanks SubKi||er, will try it out after raya holidays If you really can't find then you can reply me here or PM me. I did posted a reply on this few pages back when someone asked for it i think. It is almost the same with ATi chipsets as well. Added on September 30, 2008, 2:48 pmis there any way that i can load the sata/raid drivers into my thumb drive, and when asked to load those drivers by pressing f6, can i just plug in my thumb drive and have those drivers loaded from the thumb drive? QUOTE(SubKi||er @ Sep 30 2008, 05:04 PM) Some thumbdrives that can act as a USB floppy with a separate floppy drive when you insert it should be able to work but i'm not sure. I remember someone told me that worked. you mean which one that worked? the thumb drive that acts as floppy or loading the drivers into thumb drive? |

just want to confirm, my hard disks now are running in ide compatible mode. so if i switch them to sata mode, will there be any noticable boost or slowdown in performance? coz i've found a guide on how to switch to sata mode, without needing to reinstall windows alltogether.
