Other than using steroid cream, are there any ways to heal eczema? I have some on my back, and legs around the ankle area.

I used to use steroid cream like corticosteroid and it is very effective, I put the previous night, and next morning less itchy. But got side effects like it would thin the skin right? So I don't use steroid cream often.

But if don't use often, it will come back after a while.

So what's a good way to heal eczema? And any doctors or specialists u all can recommend to consult and let them have a look at the skin?

There's no real cure for it. It's an immune disorder. The steroid cream is an immune suppressant, that's why it's "effective".

See it from an allergy point of view. You're allergic to something & each time you triggered your allergy, your eczema flares up. So try to identify what triggers your eczema & avoid it like a plague.

Also, stop taking sugar & gluten may probably help too. Focus on eating clean.

Back then i have the same problem but worst than you. From head to toe my skin are almost rotten, filled with blood and big patches of poxes with some unidentified liquid in it so i cannot sit on chairs without a cooling pad. Then i went to Sime Darby to consult a specialist, its a woman but I've forgotten her name. She prescribed me some kind of cream and tablets. At first month i can see my skin is recovering by following the prescription but after that it just came back again. Then again went to see the specialist and got me another type of cream and medicines. Later on I slowly recover.

Now only i find out, you hadn't consult a doctor about it? A piece of advice, dont simply buy any cream and put on it yourself, your skin might not take it.

I see. Actually mine used to be even worse than what I'm having now. When I was in secondary school, it used to be very red, itchy, even dark red. But now it has gotten way better after I have grown older.

Yeah had seen doctors before, normally they just give steroid creams.

I think I know which specialist you referring to. So u slowly recover due to the 2nd round of visiting the specialist and getting the other type of cream and medicine, or you recover naturally? For me, my eczema gotten better too as time passed

Focus on internal healing, it's better for autoimmune disorders in the long term. Despite me being an eczema skincare seller, I still tell people that.

You go 2nd, 3rd or more rounds to the doctor, they'll just give you a higher dose of steroid only. The purpose is just to suppress the immune system & let your body heal by itself over time. Sometimes the triggers are still active, so that's why even after the steroid effect is over, the eczema will flare back up again. Nothing our modern meds can cure eczema. Just manage the flare ups only.

Okay will focus on eating healthy and drinking more water, plus avoid any products that might cause the eczema to flare up

Apart from food, also watch out for irritants from detergents, clothing materials, dust mites, mold and even sweat.

If you focused on skincare, that's external healing. If focused on dietary care, that's internal healing.

In a nutshell, avoid inflammatory food such as sugar, gluten or processed food. Eat more immune boosting food.

This is such a dilemma situation. I know my friend also having low sugar attack some times.
He's only taking fish oil as supplement.

If he has other problems as well, then ideally seek a nutritionist or dietitian opinions too in order to get the right balance.

Ya I agree. Sweating will sometimes cause it to redden and get itchy

Be careful on the skin soap you use. You may also try calendula hydrosol application on the affected areas.

Tried Cetaphil soap long ago, supposedly fragrance-free but the fragrance quite strong (although nice smell)

Calendula Hydrosol? You use before?

The steroid cream will only make your eczema last longer, it has to be used for short periods of time so your skin doesn't get "accustomed to it". Try hydrating creams (cetaphil comes to mind) and also try drinking apple cider vinegar, that really helped with my flare ups.

now im taking one supplement drink which contains moringa, tiger milk mushroom and berry juice which I found in FB ads. I found it quite effective to certain extend in helping to "calm down" my eczema moderately during flare up

Hey guys, thanks for writing this post. Actually my child was also suffering from skin disease in this corona era and I was not able to find any good children hospitals near me. Then I tried nearbyall.com. This site gave me detail of four hospitals along with their distance from my place. I am really grateful to this site as it helped me in that emergency time.
