Hi Guys,

any recommendation on a budget soundbar at cost of around RM1500?

i was actually checking on SONY HT-X8500, LG SL7Y & Samsung hw-q60t/xm, unsure which one would be worth going?

The main usage of the soundbar for me would be on TV watching, playing game & music playing, i m currently using Samsung TU8000 4K UHD Smart TV, unsure if there would be any compatibility issue with the listed brands above.

I'm getting Sony X90H TV, and seller recommend HT-Z9F Sony soundbar. I google around and there is a samsung model HW-Q70R sound bar. If compared between these 2, which one is better/superior? So far I have checked the specification, both look the same. But I do not know the sound experience on Samsung one.

How much ur budget? Easier to recommend based on ur budget

If based on q70r vs z9f, sony one a tad bit better. Looking at the price, its 1.7k vs 2.5k soundbar. Both support Atmos, but sony surround reproduction is better than the samsung. Detailed reviews u can refer rtings.

If ur budget around z9f, i would highly encourage u top up just a bit more and get q80r. Its way better than both of them. Last time i check, its around 2.6k-2.8k, depends on shop.

Just take note Z9F isn't real Atmos, it's just DSP to make it sound like there is an Atmos effect. Q70R instead has real Atmos up firing speakers. If you are able, go to a shop to have them tested side by side.

But for the Z9F price, you can get the Q80R which is much better than the Z9F.

Thanks guys. Yesterday after discussed with my wife, we decided to rather upgrade tv size from 55 inches to 65 inches and just get a basic Sony soundbar cause we prefer larger screen size than better sound. We ended up getting Sony HT-CT800 Soundbar instead and invest the additional funds on upgrading TV size.

q80r or q800t

If you are using the newer Q symphony Samsung TV then maybe Q800T, if not then Q80R.
Q800T is a 3.1.2 setup while Q80R is 5.1.2
