QUOTE(TechnoDude94 @ Aug 11 2007, 02:37 PM) I use iWork to differentiate myself from the masses using Office. If you're presenting to a potential client or delivering a proposal, doing it in iWork definitely makes it stand out.Having said that however, there is a paradigm shift when you're working with iWork after you're so familiar with Office. |

I've played around with iWork '08 (with particular mention to numbers), and I think it's excellent. You don't have to think different, just just plain don't have to think at all! All the project samples are lined up for you at start-up... it's wonderful.
Only problem is that I need to open excel files from the office, and I'm worried one day there will be some formula that's in there that won't be recognized. So far numbers has a bit of problem with my date and time formulas that I use to calculate my wages. So far it's gone ahead and converted all my dates from the 02/07/2007 format to 2nd July 2007, which isn't so bad, but it can't recognize that 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM is 7 hours, which bugs me. Plus I'm used to how Word and Powerpoint works (call me an old man if you wish). Overall I think iWork is fantastic value, especially since it's cheaper than MS Office, but for me, for now, I think I'll just wait for Office 2007 (or is it 2008?). |
