There could be many factor affecting coolant1) drop sue to high pressure leak somewhere ( likely in combustion chamber)
2) tiny hole in the hoses that u can only see when there is pressure
3) faulty pressure cap
Usually top up every service is best practise but I check every 2 weeks once when I wash my car. Caught by suprise sometime due to faulty tank that has a tiny crack
Once time pipe reput and suddenly awake by high temp alarm
