have you book for the RS 2021 or waiting for the price, test drive the RS first?

some agent ask to book now, start apply loan now, once price announce they fix and change the price later before submitting the loan,
in order to get the city RS as early as possible next year

what do you think if do as what the agent ask for now?
*
trust me, do the loan as early as possible
then when the car price out, amend immediately to your desire amount and u can take car earlier as you Lou is ready

QUOTE(adriankan @ Nov 25 2020, 11:26 AM)
this is what i dont like about our reviewers, they mostly focus on saying whats good rather than whats bad about a car, it makes it seem like the car does not have its issues.

this is how i kena sting with the Gen 3 Myvi, when it first came out everyone say damn good la so geng la, and to my untrained eye that time it does look great, such a step up from previous gen. So i bit the bullet and bought it as my first car.

then drive a few months and years only start to slowly notice the flaws, things like lack of noise insulation for wind and tyre, water splashing when raining loud like heck until i thought i accident when i first heard it, ride so stiff and hard until you go through the smallest bump also whole car sound like wanna fall apart (like come on my mom's 2003 Hyundai Matrix absorbs bumps better), small things like battery double in price cause of engine start stop system and wiper change to conti car style button wiper instead of hook wiper, and you cant find button wiper for myvi anywhere except at perodua which cost a bomb.

now with all this experience i looked back at all the videos and articles i saw and read that made me buy the myvi, my goodness they do not even inform properly on the severity of the deficiencies, even dare say noise is good and water splashing bearable, ride is good etc.

dont know if they are forced to say good things or what, but clearly they are not testing enough and explain things in a real world setting, who cares if the new myvi is 71db vs 73db in old myvi in the cabin when its unbearably loud going through federal highway everyday
*
well if gen2 vs gen3 , insulation is miles better already , but not the water hit the rear part.

as for the harsh ride, u can actually go back sc to marah and they would but some rubber at the spring n your car wont harsh ride anymore unless u use a sport tyre then only a thicker size would have save u

the battery is not double price, u can get a decent one within 300 nowaday which is like 50% more than typical, some cheap one is 250 +- hardly any more expensive

plenty of wiper choice outside, these button style exist in the market long before myvi use them....

Reviewer usually cant talk much as they might damage the car brand and no future car for them to test out
so read between the line
same goes to proton car, drink fuel like no tomorrow but reviewer will tell u barrable brows.gif

Yes it's true, in fact not just cars review. That's why we need to read between the lines. When reviewers said "it's sufficient to drive in city...", "it's sufficient for *insert conditions*" that's usually clues of its inadequacy.

with youtuber , some deliberately fuck up their test video just to show the car is capable

when all people get 12.5 to 13 second
1 youtuber claim almera can do in around 11s
and i study the footage, damn this youtuber choose a downhill open road to test the so called fast 0-100 time doh.gif doh.gif

X50
Small passenger seats, great for couples but definitely not a great ride for your elderly.
Very small trunk space (but ALL youtubers saying it is big lah, it is ok lah bla bla bla )
The 360 camera is quite blur ( none of the youtubers mentioned this ).
GKUI of its radio doesn't support android auto or apply carplay, even the mirror link is so fcked up where you have to keep your phone awake to mirror link it. So much for a 10 inch HU huh?

Almera
Acceleration from stop is great, due to its turbo. but after 80kmph it is struggling so much it is so obvious, but all the Youtubers kept saying "ok lah u drive in City, no need lah" but it is really underpowered, for a RM91k car, to me of course.
The so called "Sport mode" is actually just the overdrive button on the gear knob. No sport mode at all for the New Almera, but all Youtubers all saying it is the "Sport Mode" button.
Other than that I feel nothing much to complain about Almera really.  tongue.gif
Love the zero gravity seats, love the reverse cam that the grid lines actually turns when you are turning your steering.

I am not saying City beats them all, but I hate the trend that those Youtubers trying to hide this and that or say something to compensate the obvious bad side of a car, due to the fear that they might not get to test drive the car in future or get invited to the official launch next time.

x50 rear door is killing the elderly or anyone with a back problem
align in and out is a pain in the ass yo

bobby mention the 360 is clearer than lexus brows.gif all x50 fans high up in the sky liao

proton paid 1 youtuber to shoot a video saying the mirrorlink is better than android auto or carplay icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

as for almera,
i kena attack from the famous PT writer hafriz shah saying no people care 0-100 puke.gif puke.gif

wonder why they so afraid to criticise. western reviewers slumber only say things like unacceptable and explain comprehensively why its bad.

there was this nordic reviewer that test hilux moose test years ago and it failed and it went viral like millions of views, end up toyota fixed the issue quickly and sent them the updated car to test again to prove its worth. this is how things are improved
*
actually westerner is even worst in these kind of shit puke.gif puke.gif
u can hardly see they criticize car , even when the car is clearly ugly (read all hyundai n mers new car )
still they say its a very nice design bla bla bla

as for those testing
car manufacture dont update all one believe me rclxm9.gif

even the steel use to manufacture the car
in our own city 980mpa is the max

the previous gen Honda jazz having the mostly same body design have a high content of 1480mpa
but clearly malaysian version dont get this but still score 5 star nonetheless

same case in other country where accord downgrade from 1480mpa to 980mpa still get 5 star Ncap
and when the honda create another twin accord, they further downscale the design to 780mpa yet still 5 star Ncap
but fail gao gao in the 25% test as that test was not legally needed brows.gif

Just wanna chip in. Msia auto reviewers are not that impartial. The bigger boys, in order to get invited to events, tends to filter their speech. Only the smaller players (that go out their own way to rent car) can be more impartial. So during launch, dun trust what reviewers say. Especially those that managed to get the car during media preview. They often are not encouraged to say the bad parts of the car. Those who do, will not be invited to next event. So to get a more accurate assessment of Car X, is to go listen review on Car Y, if the reviewer make a comparison against Car X, that is the only review about Car X that you can trust. Because that time they need to care about Manufacturer Y. so they likely will give more honest feedback about Manufacturer X. It's sad, but that's the reality of auto world in Malaysia. And another thing about reviews, is they often talk about features at that time, they are unable to tell you about the premature failure of certain parts, since they only test the car when it is new. Only users can share the overall owner experience. These info can only be found in FB/LYN forums.
*
Not really
currently igXragX and BoXbX n his team is not on good term with honda malaysia
so u can see their review toward honda can be say as hostile most of the time

but when it come to their favorite car manufacturer , sweet talk gao gao

and the biggest player of event is PT now

can see how they jilat x50 butt wei , so hardworking into promoting bruce.gif

actually i kinda disgree with this because there are a few reviewer that i know that stay in PJ/KL area and they would take perodua cars for days to do review, drive around and live with it kinda thing. to me la at least, after drive few years in own city/town i will sort of know where the roads are bad or good, and where it is a good place to test the car nvh or something. So if i am a car reviewer i will definitely drive around these parts and take note of the noise insulation differences, and compare to the real world effects vs other cars.

to be honest its quite hard to miss out that perodua cars have bad nvh and ride (unless totally dont know like me a few years ago haha), its a well known consensus and i am sure them being in car circles would have heard alot of it as well.
*
TBH they drive tens or hundred car in a year
they cant possible remember all the car feel
a side by side comparison is a better way but it could be a very complicated

it can effect due to :
1) The brand the reviewer like
2) who sponsor the video
3) who provide the car for them to test

Yup its very clear they cut corners where they can, and take full advantage of developing markets and their lax laws compared to developed markets.

Sad but true reality

sadly thats how cooperate work
Toyota claimed all TNGA car build equally around the world
but 1 Asean Ncap slap them gao gao
a 50% overlap crash, camry A pilar sudah koyak abit , while US iihs testing 25% small overlap test, the A pillar is dont even move sweat.gif

as for local honda its a rare sight they display the steel content use on a honda city rclxm9.gif

actually talking about safety i notice here in malaysia everyone like to comment (reviewers and commenters alike) that safety is based on things like airbag count etc etc, thats why people keep saying toyota now good cause 7 airbag but honda city/x50 only 4 airbag on base models.

but then, if you watch back that yaris/vios ncap test their a pillar actually bend from impact, and in my mind car structure is even more important that airbag per say, after all if crash structure doesnt hold intact no airbag can save you.
*
Yes, that how reviewer and manufacturer push the safety tagline
but really anything can be manipulate one
even the steel MPA thing , Hight tensile steel is good , but thickness play a big role, nissan once reported 1250mpa vs 980mpa steel ,
just increase 15% thickness on 980mpa, they could take same impact as 1250mpa doh.gif so its more of a weight cut and cost cut nowadays rather than safety
especially when they claimed the % high mpa steel increase alot but crash test result still the same one mega_shok.gif

i stop my friend getting an vios by showing him the vios Ncap video saying u think the 7 airbags got use mou icon_idea.gif
now he's a proud owner of the new city V spec icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

glad someone else actually feels the same as me, iGxragX and BoXbX actually quite biased towards Honda, any small thing also can attack but other brands they just sweep the obvious weaknesses under the carpet.
Anyway, just did my first service today. I am surprised they didn't schedule for an oil change and I am more surprised the default out-of-factory oil is actually mineral. Can the mineral oil last until 6 months/5000km?  hmm.gif
*
because these two have some previous unhappy record with Honda Malaysia

And Honda malaysia is not inviting them to their event

So they attack honda gao gao one sweat.gif

huh, mineral only ?
second service not 10k /6 month ka

how much for the first service ?

It always has glue, for all kind of tempered glass. You will feel the stickiness with your finger when u just peel of the tempered glass.

But whether the glue will melt or not, it is depending on the quality of the tempered glass. If you park your car under sun for long duration, just have the habit to use the sunshade. It is not only to protect the tempered glass, but also to protect your dashboard.

Reason I am using the tempered glass is because I scare the screen is made up of plastic, like the Nintendo Switch. Easily scratched and damage done cannot be repaired.
Anyone dares to try to scratch on the screen to check if it is glass or plastic?  drool.gif  drool.gif

i suspect the screen have another layer of screen protector but i dare not peel it rclxm9.gif
