top up a little for Asus VP249QGR

Stand is like crap, but the panel itself is really good. am using it now.

Maybe later on u can find a good vesa mount for it.

I'm using Acer XV240YP and i can recommend it wholeheartedly. Always go for IPS if your budget allows it and you're not looking to use gsync.

I myself am using an Acer ED320QRP 31.5" 1080p monitor that supports FreeSync and GSYNC (unofficially) for up to 165Hz. I got it for RM860 through Lazada. Im pretty satisfied with it.

NOTE: if you buy this model, you need to enable "extreme" mode otherwise every motion will be a blurry mess.

Can you stretch your budget a little bit more? There's the AOC 24G2 for about RM750 (it uses the same panel as the XV240Y P, BTW) icon_idea.gif

What’s the difference between Asus VP249QGR and Asus VG249Q? Asus or AOC better?

Seems like there’s a new model Asus VG249Q1R coming soon, 165hz is it worth the wait, wonder how’s the price?

I think I’m looking for low blue light monitor as well as I’ll be using it for home office as well

The stand and built quality is the difference between Asus VP249QGR and Asus VG249Q; other than that both are essentially the same. Asus VG249Q's stand is height adjustable, while VP249QGR cannot - it only has tilting. Hence, the reason i bought a different Vesa Mount.

Asus vs AOC is a bit tough - I would have gone for the AOC 24G2, but I've read the main issue is the viewing angle. I shift places when watching shows and playing games; so viewing angle is important to me. Other issues with the AOC 24G2 is availability.

Hmm, don't think you need to worry much about Blue light, it's actually more of a hoax to be honest. Nonetheless, Asus has anti-blue light feature.

Here's the reddit that made me get the VP249QGR : https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/..._vg249q_review/

Not sure about Asus VG249Q1R - if it's using the same Panda panel, but OCed to 165Mhz, then it's not worth the wait.

New 25" panels are coming soon, I think - by AU Optronics, not Panda. not sure on availability in Malaysia, though
^ need some more information on this by experts

It's the same panel, so ultimately it depends on the panel QC and how good is the LCD driver circuit is icon_idea.gif

A review of the AOC 24G2:

1080p on a 32" monitor is ugly
I know because I've used a lot of 32" monitors

You should've increased your budget a little bit more for the ED323QUR
32", 2560x1440 resolution, 144Hz FreeSync (G-Sync compatible)
