Been trying to quit added-sugar since new year but keep failing and failing. The hardest part for me is starting my day every morning without my usual cup of sweetened coffee. I know consuming sugar is not bad as long as we are doing it in moderation but I feel like I'm addicted to sugar and I hate the feeling of being so dependent on it. So I aspire to have my diet free of added sugar once and for all. So any success stories out there on breaking sugar addiction? Do share. I broke off my usual sugared coffee routine over 10 years back. I went with half the sugar for 2 months. Once my tastebuds got used to that, I halved it again. Was totally off by the 5th month and been having kopi o kosong ever since.

i train myself to drink lots of water on week days.
on average, i take about 4 litres of water per day. that way, i cut down on sweet drink consumption.
i only treat myself with sweet drink/ food on the weekend.
this is the discipline i practiced since i started working.

Getting Started

|
Somebody told me to use this mantra: "Sugar is poison to the body". So every time i have craving for sweet things, I will remember this mantra and try to avoid it.
