My brother has bipolar disorder since birth (severe manic episodes) but only was diagnosed about 6 years ago. He could never take medication because he doesn't believe in it, no matter how much we asked, begged, forced or plead and finally the last straw came when he assaulted our mom during his manic episode and even assaulted the police that came to take him to the hospital. (He's been taken in by the police to the hospital for about 7-8 times these couple of years). He presents a danger to us and the community and there is no way we could get him to take his meds, despite him being at home 24/7, never held a job and quit schooling when he was a teenager.
With him now at the hospital, the doctors recommended that he'd be sent to a nursing home due to his absolute refusal to take meds. I checked the available nursing homes in Selangor/KL and they're all outside my budget (1k+ per month). Is there a government or any other nursing home for the mentally ill that I could look into? Thanks for any input.
Government Nursing Homes for Mentally Ill?, Or affordable ones?
