Hi guys. I am wondering if anyone has applied for any position that ExxonMobil has recently advertised on their website.

Any update from them yet? I applied in July 2020, and have not heard back regarding anything since then.

The status is currently “Application Received”.
Do they review applications on a rolling basis, and if it is normal for them to get back to applicants months later?

Yes ExxonMobil usually takes time to get back to the applicants. Dont be surprised they revert after couple of months. Bare in mind, O&G are not doing good and last Friday communication for Global Workforce review is in progress and a number of employee benefits has been removed. Potentially hiring is freeze for all department is enforced.

Forget about it for now.

All OnG are on major cost cutting including hiring freeze.

Does Exxon Mobil starting salary offer for a fresh graduate engineer higher when compared to Petronas offer for a similar position? Does anybody know?

Exxonmobil just posted their quarterly result - 1.1 billion dollar lost.

They are insisting on protecting their stock dividend at all cost, hence the next step is to reduce employment cost including salary cuts, benefits reduction and releasing low performing employees.

Many of my mates are from Exxonmobil and the news is all over the OnG industry now.

I've recently seen that the company's on JPA-STAR career site, but not sure if they're collecting resumes for now, and then contact applicants at a later date. Anyone's got any update yet?

No hiring at this point.

That is just a resume collection exercise for future use (in case).

Oil and Gas is not a good to place to for the past 3 years.

Maybe it was the the prime engineering market 8 years ago but not now.

If you have Chemical Engineering background, try Gloves Company.
They're in hiring frenzy and always on the lookout for someone with chemistry background.

Top Glove and Hartalega to name a few.

For IT roles mostly on 2 years contract basis due to uncertainty in oil and gas industry. mostly for contract role they offer basic salary, annual leave and medical coverage for self (no dependent coverage). No bonus and payroll will be under 3rd party recruitment companies.

For anyone working in ExxonMobil, I would like to check on parking availability nearby. or better to take public transport ? btw, i am travelling from klang.

Haha that's incredibly long.

Was this for an IT related position?

Yeah, software developer position. I ady got another position so I dun care la.

Anyhow, i didnt tell them i dun want. They gave me online test, i passed, 2 weeks later they emailed me for on site interview date. I replied i wasnt available on that date, so i asked them to suggest me any date starting a week later than the original date. They still havent got back to me, it has been 6 months now? It would be a nice surprise if they replied back to me after another 1 year delay hahahah
