Any recommendations for a service shop that can repair Rolex instead of official rolex service centre? Cheaper but still does a good job, reliable and trustworthy? Thanks

U berani ah send outside? Should have thought about post-sale maintenance cost before buying a Rolex. At least if send back to Rolex and watch gets screwed, you can get it rectified. Send outside swap your ori parts with OEM parts also you won't know.

Already spend 5/6 figures on the watch, what is another few thousand for maintenance.

Rolex is very particular about their watches being opened or serviced by third party watchmakers. Once a watch has been found to be tampered with and contains parts that are not Rolex parts, the watch may be marked with a XXX on the inside of the caseback.

The XXX means that the watch is blacklisted from any further servicing at any RSC worldwide.

Better send back to Rolex to service. Otherwise in the future no value as most people would insist to verify the watch at RSC before purchasing. RSC sees the “XXX” and proceed to inform the buyer that the watch is blacklisted.

Maybe for proton and Honda lah.

Not for Ferrari and Lamborghini. Even when it’s out of warranty, my friend still send it back to the authorized service center for servicing and parts replacement.

Don’t send your watch to third party watchmakers. Better to send back to RSC.

Read the bottom wording highlighted in red in the picture I attached to this post.

It’s up to you, bro. I can only advise against sending your vintage anywhere but RSC. I have a 20 year old Rolex that is still being serviced by RSC.

The last service was last year and it cost me only slightly more at RM4k but that includes the price of a new rotor as the previous one needs replacing.

The local watchmakers will gut your watch and replace it with China clone parts. Later on, you will find out that your watch is worth nothing as the internals have been replaced with a clone Rolex 1:1 movement from China.

A 3rd party can service so long as they use genuine Rolex parts.

If a 3rd party services with non-genuine parts, RSC won’t touch it with a six foot pole.

ok bro, so you are saying RSC accept 3rd party serviced watches jus that the parts used must be genuine parts, unlike someone above mention RSC will reject any 3rd party serviced watches?
*
Yes.

If RSC opens up the caseback and sees everything in there to be genuine, how would they know who it was serviced by, or if it was even serviced at all?

Friedrice did say that if they see anything in there that’s non-Rolex, then that would be a problem.

Nothing wrong with getting it serviced by a reputable indy, especially if it’s a vintage piece and you’re only after a movement service with no replacement parts.

Getting it serviced by Ah Chong Workshop under the tree however, that’s a different story.

Why would you want to service such a recent year model, especially if it’s still under warranty? Solely just for authentication purposes?

My 14060M was about rm3k last year.

I recently sent in a 116610 and am awaiting a quote, but expected to be around the same price for a regular service.

Cause i am planning to buy a pre-owned sea dweller as seen from picture there's some scratch mark, might be better to know the maintenance cost before buying it, or maybe just get a brand new one be better ?
