you want your hdd become fast only have 1 way to do so and if only your mb can support nvme.

It is to use intel optane 16gb/32gb to boost it.

No other way and don't waste your time in here.

Lowyat can get APACER 120gb SSD Rm69... 120gb can support Windows 10 without issue. Just use your HDD as media drive.

This build is actually made mostly from spare parts laying around my house. Already spent almost rm100 for ddr4 4gb ram & cpu heat sink. Guessing SSD is damn important nowadays.

can...H270 quite ok already.

Intel optane was bought on 2018. That time business trip... and the cost was damn low that time. Now I only use enterprise HDD model.

Very good for NAS and HTPC. I believe you also want build media storage / htpc / nas right?

Install lightweight linux maybe?
Or just buy a hdd dock and use on computer you already have.
Could build proper htpc setup but doesn't sound like you want to fork out much money.

u plan to build htpc or NAS?

for htpc, u can run LibreELEC or OpenELEC

for nas, u can run Freenas, Xpenology, Unraid

for general purpose pc, u can install linux. Choose you flavor here -> https://itsfoss.com/lightweight-linux-beginners/

How many times you need to boot up a day? If you don't want to spend any money just boot up once a day and leave it on until you retire for the night.
