No problem with that.
You can just tap or do at self-service kiosks.
I won't feel embarrassed for doing so.

Yes, with the incoming Duit QR, BNM wants to me cashless payment more penetrated coupled with MyDeit Contactless.
Heavy push over these initiatives by Paynet.

I paid with CC for my Sundae cone. smile.gif I used to use PayWave to buy from the dessert kiosk, fast and easy for me and the cashier.
These days I go there to reset my PBB QV after reaching PayWave limit by inputting PIN. laugh.gif However, I do this only if nobody is queuing behind me. tongue.gif

So not an issue at all. biggrin.gif

Of course e-wallets will be more useful now. rclxms.gif

If it's embarrassing, I would be extremely shamed..

I've not used cash for quite some time, previously been using paywave even for RM 1 or less.. Difference is now combined use with ewallet.. Lazy to constantly pulling card out of wallet.. Especially in Corona times like now, minimum touching of anything

Previously it may be frowned upon, but nowadays the pos systems are quite fast, and it has become quite a common thing, so far no experience with cashiers complaining

The only part I don't like is when people hold up the queue just to reload ewallets. And secondly, the reliability of ewallets..never had problems with TnG so far.. Especially like the quick payment feature..

Cash is merely for backup.
I have NOT pulled out those big denomination notes from the wallet for weeks.

yes, my mentality still thinking CC for at least rm 50 and above

used to laugh at some buying groceries at Tops supermarket for amount rm 30

but that was more than 10 years ago

e-wallets will be a better option, still thinking CC for less than rm 30 (personal opinions ya)

With e-wallets, it is reasonable to have lesser cash in wallet. My wallet only contains cards and RM 30 cash (enough for my lunch portion in case of emergency lol). My colleagues know I don't carry cash, so not embarrassed at all. laugh.gif I pay for my colleagues usually with CC and they pay me back by Maybank QR Pay or e-wallets. It has been many months since I last did this, been working from home since MCO started... sad.gif

Finally back in Malaysia after being away since the beginning of the year. Noticed that there's a discussion going out on when to use TnG eWallet. Just wondering, how's the adoption rate nowadays for eWallet in Malaysia? Does the pandemic actually makes more merchants accept eWallet?

Compared to pre-COVID era, I can see wider penetration rate.

Yes, everyone is encouraged to use cashless methods whenever possible to avoid that much of contact.

Yes it is, the perception towards e wallet usage has changed too.

Previously, staff will think it's weird when you use e wallet to pay if the amount is very low, now it's normal even if you pay RM 0.80 for a gardenia bread using e wallet.

Huge difference when using e wallet 3 years back, the current situation with e wallet seems promising.
