QUOTE(victorian @ Jul 6 2022, 12:57 PM)
Why cannablize their own go+? Both are essentially MMF
*
QUOTE(xiaomoon @ Jul 6 2022, 02:14 PM)
the only big different cannot direct payment from goinvest
*
QUOTE(Davidtcf @ Jul 6 2022, 11:19 PM)
Difference is can’t use the balance here for payments.
*
go+ maximum RM 9.5k + interest only; no capping for goinvest

QUOTE(MGM @ Jul 6 2022, 01:19 PM)
Up to 2.7% n could go - ve, might as well use those high interest CASA.
*
those would have required some spending with fpx/debit/credit card, which may not be attractive than other cash back/reward credit card
and/or investment which may not be appealing

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Jul 6 2022, 11:25 PM)
strange part about this MMF is, today my return -2. loss 2 sen in 1 day. first time see MMF get return -ve
*
investment should be accompanied with return and risk, MMF is not limited to FD only

QUOTE(victorian @ Jul 7 2022, 11:21 AM)
If you can withdraw out your tng fund, don't think people will put into go+ or goinvest with or without the capping
*
don't quite follow this statement
i find go+ more appealing than goinvest because it allows instant cash out to ewallet, which allows payment/transfer/duitnow
is there any ewallet that provides 1-month FD interest that i m not aware of? hmm.gif

goinvest, on the other hand, would be contender to versa/stashaway/fsmone/KDI
could not find information in relation to cash out to ewallet balance from the FAQs

QUOTE(victorian @ Jul 7 2022, 12:58 PM)
Ya because u say go+ has 9.5k capping, so I thought you are implying that you want to put more inside.

But the reason why people put into go+ is because source of fund can be non cash and withdrawable. .

So I don't see the point of goinvest actually, there are much better alternatives out there.
*
that was my point, for those who wish to accumulate more than RM 9.5k in MMF, the excess could only be directed to goinvest
so long as goinvest allows cash in from ewallet balance ---> credit card transferable balance limit ---> cash back on ewallet reload
for cash in RM 5,000 or below monthly, the return could possibly beat other MMF as the cash back from credit card is around 2-4%

use prepaid don't have much benefit at all compare to use credit card.
*
not necessarily since the reward may be limited by the spending category/cap

QUOTE(Barricade @ Sep 7 2022, 02:16 PM)
TnG banned my account from using reload pin said i breach their TnC. I still have reload pin to utilize. Any idea how to resolve this?
*
sell at discount brows.gif? carousell, facebook marketplace, lowyat garage sale?

QUOTE(lowyat101 @ Sep 7 2022, 02:24 PM)
btw about the GO+ 2.x% interest, previously there was this limit where only the 1st few k will have this rate, the remaining will have a lower rate. but i can't seems to find this limit now.

does it means now all the amount in the GO+ will get this 2.x% interest?
*
that was the bonus campaign, 2% bonus in addition to daily return, which expired in April 2022

#12568
now daily return for all balance in go+ is around 2.x% p.a.

Fuh, GOinvest getting higher and higher. At 3%, they can start fighting with the FD team. Granted there's no PIDM protection like in FD, for short term saving it does seem to have some level of value.
*
always read the advertisement with cautious, 3% p.a. refers to the projected 'gross' return, excluding any management and trustee fees
QUOTE
*/2. The projected gross return rate is excluding fees. Projected gross return (excludes fees) by Principal Malaysia for the next 12 month and may vary daily depending on market performance.

the net return should be lowered by ~ 0.40%

QUOTE(Wolgie @ Sep 29 2022, 01:37 PM)
Magic word.... Up to...... so not must 3%.
*
that is valid
but the real issue of the discrepancy here lies with the gross return vs the net return
because they failed to read

Go+ is Money Market Fund. Do you know what is M.M.F.? A super low risk fund but low return, not possible to go negative in Malaysia unless OPR and FD rate go negative.
*
not all MMFs are equally super low risk
better check their asset allocation
the risk might not be as low as u think if there are bond/sukuk involved

QUOTE(thelws @ Oct 18 2022, 09:02 PM)
although i would really prefer to be able to see the blank and white on this.

How you know those complain about debit card annual fee are the same people who gladly accepting tng annual fee?
*
hmmm...right
let me rephrase that
the RM 8 fee from savings account have been complaint on many occasions
while no complaint has been occurred for TNG yet

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Dec 27 2022, 11:11 AM)
Most of bank savings account give less than 1% p.a. interest.

But TNG wallet with Go+ can give more than 3% p.a. return.

fair point

How do I read this? Also, this doesn't include the distribution for Dec 2022 for GO Invest, correct?
*
comparing the 6-day return from both go+ and go invest
since both balances are identical
so, the goinvest return is trailing behind go+ return by 9% (1.59/1.75-1)
not sure whether the 1.59 is inclusive of the campaign reward

QUOTE(contestchris @ Jan 4 2023, 11:22 AM)
My analysis shows that's blatantly untrue

One of the reason I withdrew is to avoid wasting time with these nonsense. 3.5% only outperform 1 month FD at the expense of inconvenience. So, if majority of the people feel the same and stop using Goal+, they will run out of funds to support GoalPinjam.
*
yeah, you don't get warning email/suspended transfer but you also get 0% interest

perhaps the fd rate of PIB, HL is better than gopinjam lol.gif

Still can cash in to Goal+. T@NGo needs Goal+ to tango.

Huh? Any FD rate is better than GoalPinjam no? I mean, Savings rate always way lower than Loan rate for finance inst to make money.
*
lol, u mentioned that they fund the gopinjam with go+
but it is about 15% of the total being placed with CIMB Islamic

still dont understand. Means 15% of Goal+ in CIMB Islamic and 85% loaned out via GoalPinjam?
*
lol.gif in short, the fund within gopinjam and go+ are not related, as least not directly
unless the structure is like kdi, i.e. proprietary fund

And just to add. Assume Goal+ gives 3.5% per annum, reload from CC, put inside Goal+ for 50 days to earn 0.48%. So only pay 0.52%. Not a bad deal if run out of sources to wash.
*
better target cc cash back 2.5%-4% / month lol.gif instead of the 3.5% p.a. go+ interest
RM 10/RM 1,000 for 50 days would be 7.3% p.a., so u r actually paying 3.8% p.a.

just realised i cant make visa purchase for total more than transferable or non transferable. cant combine the limit.
*
QUOTE(thinkhappy @ Apr 5 2023, 09:44 AM)
I use my TNG visa at the end of march and my wallet don't have transferable anymore... it don't have any issue. TNG just deducted the balence from non transferable amount
*
i guess TNG segregate transferable and non-transferable balance into different wallet, and applies the same code similar as ewallet/go+ balance
either your transferable amount or non-transferable amount must be sufficient for successful transaction, so they won't top up the difference from another wallet lol.gif

unlikely according to t&c

https://support.tngdigital.com.my/hc/en-my/...ment-deduction-
my guess is tng disallow certain transactions under 'non-transferable limit'  sweat.gif
*
QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Apr 5 2023, 11:36 AM)
someone also mentioned bp transaction didn't deduct non-transferable limit

bigpay = e-wallet?
so it is still within T&C
but gov transaction hmm.gif

there is not t&c restriction for visa usage. ewallet usage yes.

if the non-transferable e-wallet balance is blocked from the MCC, how does the prepaid card access the balance? lol.gif
