I've been patiently waiting for a reliable, 3ROD-free Xbox360.

And now, this.  mad.gif

Fed up lah. Buy PS3 better.

Don't know yet, that only based on theory. Somebody experience with falcon console may tell what the real story. Heard also not only cpu & motherboard they changed but also cooling system design.

Even the Halo 3 limited Xbox360 which is said to be using the new 65nm cpu is not spared of 3ROD.  sweat.gif

The Jasper is all i want. I confident this time MS will overcome 3ROD issue with Jasper because of using 65nm for both CPU and Graphic chips.

From what i know even though your Xbox 360 stated TEAM : FDOU, Manufaturer date the after july 2007 and lot no is 0741 and latest, it is not confirm it is Falcon chip used. There is a case its still using zephyr mobo.

The fact to differenciate whether X360 machine is Falcon or not by check the power adapter watt. If the watt is 203w than it is Zephyr, but if the power adapter is stated 175w then it is definately Falcon machine. Because Falcon mobo used less power consumption. Can check at the box like picture below

And one more thing who says Falcon use 90nm GPU, according to AnandTech the GPU is smaller in size (80nm) compare to the old one (90nm), and the CPU by all know used 65nm chip.

if i want to buy the xbox360 with the falcon chip, how do i know it is a falcon chip inside?

- is it by the mfg date ? after july 2007
- is it by looking at the HDMI port ? then it is FALCON chip inside

well my current 360 works perfect...just incase !

So...  any related with the falcon chipset???

OK so here is the REAL proof that Falcon also got 3ROD, damn MS. If my Falcon got 3ROD in future, i will not turn into X360 anymore, PS3 is the way to go

QUOTE(mambo @ Feb 26 2008, 06:48 PM)
ur answer is NO... its the gpu which causing 3rod.. but falcon is only the cpu.. so the problem is still there..... how ever the heat is reduce on the falcon unit.... sorry if my answer is wrong but u might wana browse all these pages for the right answer.

another thing is the noisy sound from the drive is normal for falcon unit? or it sign of destruction.

Hey dont be so confident with ur statement.

In Falcon, GPU also reduced dude, from 90nm to 80nm, web anadtech has confirmed this. How come so many people in here dont know about GPU in Falcon also reduced it die size, so unbelievable all u guys dont know about this.
