Hi serious /k,

Not sure if I'm allowed to post this here. I would like to share with you my YouTube channel that I've started about 2 months ago to guide people who are keen to invest in Malaysian stocks to start and the know-hows.

In real life, I'm a financial modeller (dealing with project finance generally) which exposes me to the financial knowledge on a daily basis. As an engineering graduate myself, this is an eye-opener and I think everyone (regardless of background) should have access to financial knowledge, hence why Im making these video to share them.

My videos cite my own personal experience as well as the things I've learnt in the past year of investing in stocks.

It will be very helpful if you guys can click into the video (maybe Subscribe?) if you are interested in stocks // or just interested to witness my growth journey in video-making as well as wealth growing.

I will always be improving my YouTube video content so please stay tuned for more videos (I post every Friday!) blush.gif blush.gif

p.s. If this is not allowed, Mod pls kindly let me know and I will be more than happy to remove this post.

Thanks and have a great day everyone! thumbup.gif

You've got something good going there, I wish you all the best. I've tried blogging on fundamental investing in the past (link in my sig), but gave up after finding quite dismal readership. Maybe folks nowadays prefer to watch videos instead of read long-winded posts.

Hey there, I really appreciate your positive feedback.

My initial thought was to start with Blogging as well because I’m rather camera-shy and I get nervous speaking to camera (if that makes any sense?)

When I see prominent investing/financial bloggers, their blogs are really well written and researched. But then they are mostly judged by how good their stock picks are and that’s actually kinda sad to set off at that foot.

So I overcame the fear and just practiced and researched throughout MCO, building on the small knowledge I have on video editing, picked up some gears and begin filming since June - and the journey is very fulfilling thus far. It kept me busy for the most of my time (i also run instagram page with 2x post daily) so I love the hustling feeling I get from it.

Im not a pro youtuber and still far from even being called one, but if you would like to begin with youtube I can drop you some tips and notes ^^

Cheers!

Unfortunately most investors here simply want a stock tip that will make them a quick buck overnight and not in the long run. I did target the Singapore market with somewhat better success but ultimately it wasn't worth the effort.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm in a position where I'm not at liberty to reveal my identity publicly or be perceived to be making market/stock recommendations. I would be more than happy to have discussions with you in private about investing and stuff if you're open to it, though.

Hey there, I've actually made a video on how to get started (opening cds account, what is investing etc.) in my previous video

This is something that I've made few weeks ago with my old setup, and maybe my title isn't that obvious enough for people to take note? XD

Anyways you gave me a very good suggestion, I will definitely relook into my old videos and possibly come out with a condensed version of "Stock Investing in Malaysia under 10 Minutes" or something along that line for people that have 0 idea about stock at all.

Thank you very much nonetheless!

p.s. Link to the mentioned video below:

Hi there, thank you very much for the kind compliment.

Financial stuff is indeed very interesting and there's no boundary to it, there's always something new to learn about it everyday!

I hope I can look back sometime in the future and be glad that I actually walked out of my comfort zone and do all of these.

Thanks and cheers to you good sir. Have a great one.

Hi there, my day job involve financial model analysis, cash flow projections, return analysis for projects which are in the nature of mergers & acquisition.

Put it simple, its the business model expel spreadsheet guy that does all the calculation to measure whether a potential project is profitable to the company or not.

Maybe to avoid any misunderstanding, my job title isn't actually "financial modeller", such job usually come with the title Financial Analyst/Commercial Analyst/Project Finance Executives etc.

This is a common position in investment banks (which oversees company mergers/acquisitions/divestment etc.), as well as in conglomerates, GLC and many more that revolves around that.

If you are interested in job of such nature, you can look up Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program (3 level exam paper), which is typically a entry level requirement to investment banks - can be taken by anyone even without financial sector experience.

Feel free to drop me a private message if you are interested to know more.

Cheers

Hey there! Thank you so much for subscribing.

I'm using Final Cut Pro X on my Macbook Air to edit the video, the pictures are just downloaded and placed into the software and added into the video timeline. Some of the text titles etc are downloaded from online sources (YouTube, google etc.).
I also color grade the video in the same software, using LUTs from YouTubers' free download link.

Here are the gear I used:

Camera - Canon EOS M50 mirrorless camera + Kit Lens (Shopee Link)

Tripod - Zomei Q111 Tripod (Shopee Link)

Mic - Boya BY M1 lavalier mic (Shopee Link)

Lighting - Onsmo fluorobox (Shopee Link)

Happy to talk further thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Cheers thumbsup.gif

P.S you can also learn from professionals like Think Media on how to begin your youtube journey:
