I sometimes listen to stuff loudly in my headphones, does it potentially damage my ears?

yes and it is not too late. you can reset back the way you hear. the next listening session, start at a lower volume and work your way up. take note that not all volume is the same in devices.

if you use headphones a lot during commuting or outside, now is a good time to invest in a noise cancelling headphones. because most of the time, headphones have poor seal and outside noise will leak into your headphone, which naturally will make one to crank up their volume.

if you wanna test your hearing (accuracy of the result is debatable), try here and run the test. SoundID

good luck!

good for you and thanks man! this is based on my personal experience. I enjoy listening to music most of the time, and where I live, and with my younglings, I don't have the luxury of using speakers. Good headphones are a blessing.

It all started with an open-back headphone, my wife is complaining that she can hear the music that I am listening to (it's given though, by design). Hence, the attempt to lower down the volume.
