Think of it as a facelift /improvement within the same model. I'd say go for it if you're willing to spend. My wife HRV using, comfy and quiet with good grip overall dry or wet.

Michelin has long tread life but they are very prone to chipping. I have a set of Primacy 3STs that are almost 6 years old, still with a lot of tread but is now unsafe to use because the sides are chipped and dry rotted. Only clocked 50,000 KMs. They need replacing very soon. Primacy 4 is a good premium touring tyre and I say go for it.

Usually those premium brands tires with soft type rubber (that why you will feel more comfort and better braking response) will encounter this issue. The only way is to drive it always and dont let it sit as the outer rubber surface will dry and crack first due to our hot environment. I have used few set of Michelin tyre in the past and in the end i go for other brands as the same issue encountered with you.

My ps4 Michelin only good to go for 60k km only. Chipping every where on outer side. I also had this issue on ps3. Hopefully they resolve it on Primacy model.
Now survey other brand. Is Giti Tyre a good to go?

Now survey other brand. Is Giti Tyre a good to go? Giti is one of the best budget tires brand (Factory base in Indonesia, main office in China & Singapore). I have heard a lot of good feedback for this brand especially for its sport tires i believe is GitiSport for its performance against others at the same price gap. FYI, not all budget tires are bad tho..

If your size is 18 or above then I highly recommend Continental Extreme Contact Sport which IMHO even better than PS4 performance and may last slightly longer too. If don't have as much budget then try Falken Azenis FK510 but it's slightly less performance than PS4.

Just came across this thread, and maybe got the answer for what TS asked. The difference between Primacy 4 and Primacy 4 ST are:
-Both are designed for Asia Pacific Region's extreme road and weather conditions (bumpy road, potholes and thunderstorms). -ST means Silent Tuned, available in Asia not in Europe due to drivers' prioritize less noise in Asia for apparent reasons.
