How Soon After Miscarriage Can We Try Again? my wife and I went for IVF due to my wife's adenomyosis and endometriosis. Through IVF thankfully we managed to collect 5 healthy eggs. Beginning of this year, doctor transfer one egg to her. Manage to get pregnant but unfortunately it didn't stick well to her womb and at the end miscarriage. She is almost 40. Doctor told us to come back after 3 months and I wonder if there is any difference if we come back after 3 months vs later i.e 6 months. As you all know there are still covid 19 pandemic issue out there. I google a bit and some say try again after 3 months has high success rate. I am not sure the science behind it though.

I'm not sure about ivf but my wife on 12 week baby had no heart beat. Had to do dhc procedure. Doctor asked to try again after 4 to 6 mo.

Some doctor say can try earlier..some say need to womb to heal. So we decide to wait for 6 mo

From our experience, better to wait at least 1 year for the womb or body to heal. If not healed properly, there is a possibility to get ectopic pregnancy.

Our experience for our first children - 1st-time pregnancy - miscarriage. Tried in around 6 months, got ectopic pregnancy. Then we decided to take at least 1-year break for the body and womb to heal. Now, we have 3 kids and 1 more to come; ~3 years between each.

Consult your doctor or gynae. Usually most say after 6 months can try again

Your wife is 40, may not have luxury of time just consult and try

I'm really sorry about what happened to you. My opinion is that it's worth waiting a little longer. Actually, it would be perfect to go to another doctor and see what he has to say about it. It would never be wrong to get another opinion on this case. And while you're waiting, there are a lot of vitamins that can help your wife get a little better. Maybe the doctor can advise you on something. Good luck to you!

Sorry out of topic, but did your family or ur wife's family had history of twins? Or this really because of ivf?

Yes but it depends also on womb condition. If got condition, the more you put in, the higher the chance to get miscarriage and at the end wasted the healthy eggs

they are fraternal twins .. one boy one girl.. so definitely becoz of IVF smile.gif

based on my own research and discussion with doctors, for IVF usually put 2~4 embyros, depending on the womb condition...

of coz, depending on ur "luck", all embryos might implant... then it carries a larger risk of miscarriage or pre-term birth..

sometimes, doctor mite abort some of the fetus in order to save the rest...

like my twins were born pre-term at 27.5 weeks.. they spent a total of 180 days in NICU... cost me around 200k (excluding IVF and delivery cost)

alas.. they are 7 months old now, and except for being underweight.. both are cheerful and healthy..

doctor told me the world record is 12 fetuses... dunno he joking or what biggrin.gif
maybe put in 6 embyros and all split become twims

And IVF and/or preterm babies can’t buy medical insurance until they are over two years old. (My Allianz agent says after one year can try but let’s see)

So first year u have to really have cash in hand or u go government.

Like my boy when born got heart defect and possible brain hemorrhage. Luckily both heal as he grows. Otherwise another 50-100k gone

This is the additional risk when doing IVF need to consider.

My doctor told me their record is 28 weeks preterm and stay in NICU for almost 9 months due to various complications. Fuuuuuu. I think milllion gone. Rich Indons I think

Done it in private. around 50k

Two times egg retrieval + embryo creation
