The salesman at harvey norman said something along the lines that if tv is not oled display, there is no need to get a sound surround soundbar? I don't really understand what he meant by that. anybody care to explain the corelation between OLED and the sound system?
Judging from your layout image, your actual viewing distance should be about 3.5m, your eyes are not at the edge of sofa, if you know what i mean. Also have you viewed 70" in the shop at the exact distance you want? I realized that all these online viewing distance recommendation varies a lot. Why not take a measuring tape and try to view in a shop at that distance? I have like around max 7k~7.5k to work with.

Also, who else is watching the TV? At the same recommended distance for 65" my wife feel that it's still too big, and makes her dizzy. So the take away is that diff people will have diff preferences for viewing distance.
Also, are you an audio person or a visual person? which is more important? Screen vs sound?
