Just had a curious urge to know what is the price of the last batch of a new Mercedes-Benz E-Class W124 Masterpiece selling for in 1995

and the price of a new Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210 Big small eye selling for in 1996 or 1997 ???

I saw a tauke with his brand new bungalow, must have spent million building it from ground up. In the process of moving in I guess.
Parking his W210 inside, and still a daily drive.

In his old house (another bungalow ) walking distance nearby with plenty of other (pricey and daily) cars, but he seems to sayang this car a lot.

Hence guessing that he is first owner since new, and wondering how much he paid back then for this car.

W124 and W210 are pretty robust cars.

My mum is still using the W124 230E till today.

Do you know the price when the car was BRAND NEW back then, way back in 1990s.

E220 masterpiece was rm220k. It was the last year of production. The company I worked for then bought 2 units. I also remember sending both for 20 k service with no faults or complaints by the users. Very well made. For comparison a Volvo 940 then cost rm140k

sat in my friends big/small eye E class that day. must say it feels really comfy and luxurious even for a old car. sound insulation was good and car was quiet.

More interested on this model with the OM606 straight six 3.0 liter turbo diesel. For those who dunno, OM606 is like the 1JZ version of the diesel world.

Car prices hasn't gone up much since the late 90s.

In fact some cars are cheaper now.

Those W123/124 is considered the last of Benz car built like a tank. People use the words indestructible.

Also for comparison a Wira cost RM40k++ to RM60k++, depending on 1.3, 1.5 1.6 Auto or Manual in 1997.

Today E-class entry level is starting from RM330k..,

I only remember my mother had an E28 5-series last time. By the time I got my lesen the car must’ve been close to 15 years old. Engine loud as fugg and when you were stopped in a bad jam the temperature would creep up slowly until finally radiator boil 😂

If convert to USD, prices of Eclass have remained the same for 25 years lol

btw the idea of malaysia's very own car industry came from the late Tun Tan Siew Sin when he was the FM back in the 60s

but , like we all know, Dr M forced the idea to make it a reality

i remember back then if neighborhood spare part shops dont have stock sure need to drive to pj seapark or jalan ipoh for parts

yes, with so many safety features in the car that we have right now , like aircond and radio was like OPTIONAL back in the 80s and early 90s car
