QUOTE(genotypic @ Aug 13 2007, 06:22 PM) Battery life, as I mentioned above, wasn't one of the notebook's strong points. oh the asus life frame not so good... .coz juz like a video clip oni. mayb i try msn later. I quote from my review "A full charge will lasted about 2 and a half hours with wifi on, bluetooth off, in power saving mode and about 25% brightness, doing normal web browsing." For my notebook, I reckon it could probably hit 3 hours with all wireless off, minimum brightness, vista aero off doing some basic office stuff. 2 hours seem a little short to me. Have you calibrated your battery? Charge it up to the maximum and run it down, repeat maybe once more and see what happens.. As for the webcam, just open a program called 'asus lifeframe'. Or else just install msn or skype, and just start a video conversation..You should see your face soon.. i havent calibrate my battery... but how to calibrate it??? in the bios screen??? when calibrate, do i need to plug in the power supply cable??? |

QUOTE(exkay @ Aug 17 2007, 12:38 AM) try not to get into a fanboyism flamewar, but i wouldn't touch or go near any acer. y_owez , he explain everythg edi I do not own an acer, but my gf does. So , the job of reformating the nb and maintaining it became my duty automatically. I've have so much problem with the acer till i literally gave up. to list down afew, the nb have an ATi x1300 card, but when i was looking for the driver in ATi's website, i could find all other nb brands but not ACER in the official site. fine. next step would be searching for them in the Acer website. Which i found the driver, but then when installed, it is not supported. Hence, the X1300 card is useless in that nb now. there's a built in webcam. then again, installed the provided drivers with the cd and again , no hardware found. hence again, the webcam is useless. since i couldnt freaking get the x1300 working, i couldn't hook the nb with the projector. hooking it on the projector give me shit load of issues. ( not to say i have no experience in these settings, in fact, i've hooked up pretty much other brands of nb to different lcd projectors) there's more to come, but guess i should stop here. Asus? my sister is using the M5, and being a girl who knows little about computer, she handles it 2 years without any major problem besides there's one time where the charging component gave a buzzing sound. but problem was rectified n solved very fast by asus. with their renowed name in motherboard making, i would rather trust asus and acer. no1 best selling in malaysia ? with that kind of price, any brand would be no 1. I accept the fact that acers are cheap, but not exactly the best bang for buck nb. and yea, try not to believe too much in advertisements. Added on August 17, 2007, 12:48 amF9S got another small prob is the carrying bag..... 2 small, cant reply put much thg inside it.... This post has been edited by cryil: Aug 17 2007, 12:48 AM |

QUOTE(genotypic @ Aug 17 2007, 10:07 AM) That i agree..haha.. even the charger and mouse also can't comfortably fit in it.. But it's small la and the size ngam ngam fit a 12 inch notebook, plus a small A4 sized file..To tell the truth I'd rather have a 12 inch bag than a 14 inch one.. er... so far , i oso not much touch bou it yet le... juz feel the graphic not so gud , battery cant stand long n stick out , n the carry bag too small.... hmmmm not much liao....
