asus people not stupid . their company so big , sure their R&D department run a test before chunk in 8400.
its means, the body, the heatsink, everythink is already calculated ngam ngam. some more, desktop hardware is not the same with lappy hardware.
the performance of the lappy hardware cannot compare to desktop la bro.

yeah, if u not a gamer, its useless to use high end lappy graphic, but we are human. sometimes we do need to explore. dont you hated it, when u suddenly want to play games, get a shitty, laggy, broken pixel picture .
somemore consider the price, damn, for 12.1 lappy from asus, <rm 5000 is damn cheap . some T7300. whats more to consider..

Acer is assembling only worr.. if got hardware defect, dont blame them la. blame the manufacturer of the hardware. can check 1. Dont Compare Acer with Dell worr.. they both has same business line. Assembling only. Heat Problem, Weight Problem, Blew hot air problem all this is because of the design.

people said nec, good no 1 in Japan. bla bla bla. my nec also died within 2 yrs. the first 6 mth, the DVD-Rw Died. So i checked who is the manufacturer, turns out FUzitsu Dvd. See? even Fuzitsu got problems... my sister toshiba, also got problems. cannot boot up. must take oout the DDR and put back, so its mean MObo probs, and the Mobo made by Intel, see Intel also got problems..

In Conclusion Expensive doesn't guarantee decent operational life. its about luck and Design. u like the design, then buy it.
cheap doesnt mean not good either. its just only a business strategy.

why alot of people complain about ACer Laptops, dell Laptops, but seldom hear Vaio and Asus, Fuzitsu got problems? because alot of people own acer and dell but few owns vaio and asus and fuzitsu.
so for example units sold in malaysia:
-1million acer units= 10000 defects. the most sold unit in M'sia. sure more defects.
-1 million dell units = 8700 defects.
-10000 vaio units = 2 defects.
-7000 fujitsu units = 1 defects.

i think its fair if u see e.g. margin.

therefore most of people realize of this, and if acer really not good, they cannot be the 3rd largest in the world. somemore Ferrari also partnerd them. as u know ferrari only goes for good quality product. anyone own ferrari? no? same la.

therefore for acer to be able to sell the units at affordable prices, alot of things must be sacrificed, warranty for example. cheaper sure got 1 year only. if u ask for 2 years or 3 like toshiba, vaio, then u must be ready to spend 1000 more. so its the same. can u imagine if acer broken already within 1 year, u can use 1000 to fix it. so no problems already. why bother...

a very balanced way of explaining how the world works. n..seryesly.the lappie..good price..awesome specs. it don get any better than that.i own a thinkpad x60. damn cun the design n awesome battery life..but flippin pricey. n have to buy the add on for the sake of an optical drive. n cannot play warcraft 3 and frens sumore.. f9s sure can play one.

The way Seng Hui explained is fair enough. Sometimes it really depends on your luck on the unit you got. Even nice laptop models have hard times.
Still, I would pay a bit more to get a reliable machine and warranty. I don't want to waste time back and forth to claim warranty.

sumtimes i feel warranty isnt a good thgs, coz everytime 1 item claimed for warranty , tht item cant stand for long anymore... dunno its the item life near to the end or becoz after warranty n touched by those technician ..... but wat to do, warranty get free to repair.... no choice ^^

Added on August 22, 2007, 8:12 amyeah , i think there i a sim card slot behind the laptop .... but the slot is covered by the battery,have to take of the battery oni saw the sim card slot and the slot is so tiny =.= almost cant saw it ..... lolx

i think got stock liao coz y_owez told me evernew got stock edi....so as long as ASUS got stock all the seller sure get the stock right???
but the price still havent reduce

Yea. Every time going back and forth for warranty. A new unit become like an old unit already, screws keep getting opened and closed, parts will eventually get loose. And it's wasting precious time, and the data is important.

when fixed 1 part of the prob .... another part will start to have prob ....."wicked prob" occur and i think they keep the lappy n anywhere n nvr take good care on it....

but everyone hopes their lappy got no problems right ... warranty is just a precaution ... not 100% guarantee ....

force shutdown meants if play games too long n when its too hot it will force shutdown ur notebook = thermal design not good!
