To neuter male dogs is call castration while for female is call spaying.
For male dogs they remove their testes while 4 females they remove their ovaries and uterus...

actually there is also a non-surgical method, that is to inject a type of chemical into the male dog to cause infertility in their testes..

The vet will remove the 2 testes from the scrotum. Then he will stitch up the scrotum. Male dog must wear the E-collar later coz the stitches will feel itchy and irritating, and the dog may lick and open back the wound. For the 1st few days, the scrotum will look bloated, as if still got the testes inside. The body is actually reacting to the surgery, filling the scrotum with liquid... later the liquid will disappear by itself in a few days, then the scrotum will shrink and look like a piece of loose skin hanging. It really reminds me of a deflated balloon.

i met another shih tzu owner who castrated his dog coz he don wanna breed so he says its better to neuter him if not easy to get cancer also wor...dunno is this a fact or not...

Yupe .. it's true. He will not get testicle cancer which is so common in male dogs, even for human-being . And I read from the internet, after castration, the dog will behave better (not sure how true) and there is lesser risk of him marking around .. hehe.

No need to feel sad. It's for his own good and also for your own benefit .. hehe. Both parties benefit from desexing . So, no need to feel sad .. hehe. I'm trying to save as much as I can now - big possibility will neuter my boy too.

Castration has fast recovery.... not much pain. It is true that dogs spayed and neutered behave better. My Tammy and Toby both spayed and castrated.... both are better dogs than before.

well since its so better for them then mayb jaunty wont hv much prob getting complaints from her neightbours no more...so ya..i think its a gd thing too ^^
