Planning to replace tyres on my old proton saga. Anyone here has any good recommendations for R13 size? Don't have many good options, hence, here I am asking if anyone has any experiences with R13 tyre? How bout if I upgrade to R14, is this a good decision?

How much should I be expecting $$$ to upgrade my rim from r13 to r14? Any basic rim would be enough for me, as long as I can use r14 tyres

Not much choice for 13 inch. But 14 inch are not that much better in terms of choices. Pretty much same models and brands of tyres.

Dunlop SP Sport J5 is a pretty good option. Michelin XM2+ & Continental CC6 might be available (not too sure). Viking CT6 and Sportiva Compact are available in this size.

Dunlop, Viking, Sportiva are all made by Continental Malaysia so the quality is quite decent.

Hankook (Kinergy EX or the new Kinergy Eco 2) might be available in 175/70R13.

The budget option is to look for China, Indon tyres. Achilles 122 is quite good and I have used them previously. Currently I just replaced to China brand Goodtrip GP-16 and first impressions are quite good.

Dunlop sp sport j5
Michelin xm2+
Continental cc6

Getting Dunlop tires are good enough. If you have the budget, you could go for Michelin xm2+ which is way more expensive, known to be the best based on the reviews.

I’m personally using Dunlop sp sport j5 175/70. It’s quiet, comfort driving, good handling, good alternative of Michelin and it’s way cheaper than Michelin. Overall it’s good for me. Worth the money.

Bro, a humble advise for you. Just maintain r13. U can still get tires of 13 inch. No issue.

Exactly, stock is the way to go. As long as it’s safe and economical.
Dunlop tyres are produced and marketed by continental tyres. The ones that are made in Malaysia are of great quality.
