Our story began with a dream that Takuya Okada, our founder, had while travelling to the United States.

Seeking inspiration for his mid-sized retail business in Japan, he was amazed by the large-scale retail chains dominating the USA.

He returned home with newfound enthusiasm and shared his dream with Kazuchi Futagi and Jiro Inoue, owners of their own mid-sized retail business.

Together, they formed the


Japan United Stores Company (JUSCO)



in 1969, with a mission to provide Japanese customers with the best value, products, and services.

Their manifesto included a philosophy that read, “From this day forward, all members who join us will be welcomed equally.” With this clear mission from the heart, success came quickly, and JUSCO grew into a nationwide chain by partnering with businesses all over Japan.

It expanded to real estate development, services, and financial industries, and in 1989, the company was renamed AEON Co., Ltd.

In 1984, AEON set its sights on Malaysia and accepted the government’s invitation to help modernise the country’s retail industry. JAYA JUSCO STORES SDN. BHD was established, and after years of becoming one with the Malaysian population’s shopping experience, the company officially changed its name to AEON CO. (M) BHD. in September 2004.

Due to online business la. People go mall just to jalan2 bring kids to roaming here and there. Some go there to feel the aircond. Some go there to review the things that they are going to buy online because cheaper.

So less sale for tenant. Tenant complaint Sale can not cover rental. Aeon force to bring down the rental. Then end result less profit for Aeon la.

this place is more to lifestyle or stylo people , go there to window shopping , dating or movie, while aeon more to family oriented. when mco people have learn to go to kedai runcit or agrobazaar to buy groceries that is cheaper or expensive by 20sen or 50sen.

The AEON here in Ipoh Station 18, and Ipoh Parade on weekday working hours also FULL HOUSE parking.

Like people no need to work lidat got all the time to shop whole day one. How come ah?

online bussiness or crowd not much? as i know mall have activies nowdays. offline bussiness also untung when after 6pm. weekend. time gaji. festival. akhir tahun. the rest people buying online

Only in the supermarkets, the mall side is empty. True for all aeon malls.

AEON clothing need to compete with online buying......AEON grocery need to compete Tesco, Giant, Village Grocer, KK, 99 speedmart and online ......

Brick and Mortar shops are slowing dying out....
