Sadly usually during bad times the ones that are able to afford luxury tend to not be affected as much. Not surprising at all that luxury car makes saw increased sales than usual since its tax haven season

Depends on the brand I guess, some quite good got a few k off, whilst others like vios and yaris got just a few hundred off, which is a joke to be honest

best thing to do is to report to the dealer of the SA, and if the dealer is also in cahoots, report to proton

they really dropped the ball with this. i've always maintained that they released this X50 6 months - 12 months later than they should, and now they are paying the ultimate price by releasing it in an awkward time in between 2 MCO and can't fulfill the orders. PR disaster for them.

such a shame. they have a winning product but yet they shoot themselves in the foot like this. they had the potential to actually blaze ahead of all the competition, local and no local alike. had potential to dominate the entire market in the 80k-110k category and become the de facto option for the masses, but they still pull stunts to make consumer have "but" in their minds. proton will forever be proton

Honestly, outlet or not the only instance of these issues happening in mass (in both past and current times) is only proton. It really doesn't matter if its a rogue outlet doing it because ultimately it still falls under the proton umbrella. Maybe proton HQ is the one forcing outlets and dealers to buy it, who knows.

But what we do know and can see as a consumer from outside is that you only see this happening with proton more often than not. Other brands do not have these issues

exactly. i am sure that all these other car companies knows this will happen thats why most of their upgrades are just cosmetic level like perodua's gear up, low risk and low cost of inventory so everyone can just close one eye on dealer and HQ end whoever is holding the stock.

i personally hate how the moment you enter a car dealer most of the time you will be hounded by a SA already, giving you little to no time to choose a preferred one. worst still, even if you tend to tell them you just want to look around they'll still breathe around your neck when you look and sit in the car, they will keep butting in and explain when sometimes one doesnt want an SA to
