QUOTE(exdtan @ Jul 18 2020, 03:40 PM) You will not believe how many people actually went to BMW showroom and bought themselves a fairly expensive car during CMCO. Sadly usually during bad times the ones that are able to afford luxury tend to not be affected as much. Not surprising at all that luxury car makes saw increased sales than usual since its tax haven season |

QUOTE(exdtan @ Jul 19 2020, 09:53 AM) Typical people with safe job would play safe and spent on affordable japan make car. The ones who spent on luxury car even during bad times are those from own/family business. While I was at the SC waiting, I saw a lot of business uncle and also sons with parents at the 'signing room'. I guess it makes sense though, bad times usually would need people to spend to stimulate the economy and these are the people that are able to do it most |

QUOTE(anwarmatlani @ Oct 28 2020, 10:15 AM) Is there any announcement from proton on the packages? I told my SA about this and he still saying it is compulsory to take. 😒 he is trying to take advantage of the hype and upsell you to get more sales and comm for him then. since got so many customers queueing for x50, he can easily say "you dont like? then dont buy the car" kinda thing. best thing to do is to report to the dealer of the SA, and if the dealer is also in cahoots, report to proton Ernest90 liked this post

QUOTE(adkiller @ Feb 3 2021, 08:25 PM) they really dropped the ball with this. i've always maintained that they released this X50 6 months - 12 months later than they should, and now they are paying the ultimate price by releasing it in an awkward time in between 2 MCO and can't fulfill the orders. PR disaster for them. Lets see if Perodua's SUV faces similar issues |

QUOTE(n8210 @ Mar 23 2021, 09:15 AM) Please be careful to new buyers. If you are forced to buy the utility package, make sure they will install it when the car arrives. Luckily I found out the outlet didn't install for previous buyers, so I negotiated for my case. Really had to bargain and argue. For now I get a promise they'll install for me when the car is here. Fingers crossed. But damn ... Money hungry, sendiri first businesses really not worth to support. This is the last time I'm getting my car from them. such a shame. they have a winning product but yet they shoot themselves in the foot like this. they had the potential to actually blaze ahead of all the competition, local and no local alike. had potential to dominate the entire market in the 80k-110k category and become the de facto option for the masses, but they still pull stunts to make consumer have "but" in their minds. proton will forever be protonThis post has been edited by adriankan: Mar 23 2021, 11:37 AM |

QUOTE(n8210 @ Mar 23 2021, 10:48 PM) This is NOT enforced by proton, but by the outlet which I am buying my car from is forcing their customers to buy. I actually booked with another outlet at the same time, but they did not force me to buy the utility package. so this is an optional upgrade by proton, but this rogue outlet forced all their customers to buy it. Honestly, outlet or not the only instance of these issues happening in mass (in both past and current times) is only proton. It really doesn't matter if its a rogue outlet doing it because ultimately it still falls under the proton umbrella. Maybe proton HQ is the one forcing outlets and dealers to buy it, who knows. But what we do know and can see as a consumer from outside is that you only see this happening with proton more often than not. Other brands do not have these issues |

QUOTE(jagadis @ Mar 24 2021, 08:22 AM) Quite true. Honda, Perodua, Nissan, Toyota etc. has their own upgrade packages. None of them forces their customer to get it when booking. exactly. i am sure that all these other car companies knows this will happen thats why most of their upgrades are just cosmetic level like perodua's gear up, low risk and low cost of inventory so everyone can just close one eye on dealer and HQ end whoever is holding the stock. |

QUOTE(danielwoo8 @ May 8 2021, 05:10 PM) I have to agree with you on this. I walked into the Proton dealer showroom to look at X50 and this SA was present. I didn't choose him and never crossed my mind he is such an idiot and lazy guy. It's too late to change after waiting for 7 months. I'm not urgent to get a new car as I have 2 other cars with me. However, this does not mean I can tolerate the long wait or worst, dealing with someone shouldn't be in the sales lines at all. i personally hate how the moment you enter a car dealer most of the time you will be hounded by a SA already, giving you little to no time to choose a preferred one. worst still, even if you tend to tell them you just want to look around they'll still breathe around your neck when you look and sit in the car, they will keep butting in and explain when sometimes one doesnt want an SA to |
