Just ordered the Premium (white) variant, can't wait to get my hands on it hehe!

SA recommended "2022" batch and could take up to 6 months from now, so expect to get it around March 2022.

What are the mods / coating / accessories would you guys recommend?

See how deep your pocket is.

The basic must have are car mat, boot tray, tinted, door guard, dash cam.

The rest of it can be considered luxurious.
*
Thanks for your list! totally forgotten about dash cam and door guard as I've never used them before haha!

I've been reading mixed reviews about coating, some say not necessary for new car, some say need to care more to maintain it confused.gif

Also have some idea to spend a little bit on some stuffs like
- getting the geely S spoiler
- wax/coating of the white lamp covers (not sure what is the right word)

Not gonna change anything major like sport rim etc. but im thinking about 4-5 k to make it sharper/neater tongue.gif

Also, not sure if you guys have any reference to White cars with added accessories/different sticker/decal on it, would like to see some reference too!

Coating/ppf film see how much u care about the car, in my opinion they are way too overpriced, try to imagine if u involve in accident, those protection you put on it gone just like that, other than that the paint chip off and stuff is not obvious if you don't often wash car on your own.

With coating & film also doesn't mean you don't need to wash car and don't need to recoat, you still need to continuously maintain them as well be it washing or recoat. Just that the frequency of recoating your car is long compared to wax and less sticky to dusts.

Depends how everyone look at it, I don't take care of car that much, I just make sure I wash it atleast once per month at car wash center that don't use laundry detergent will do.

BTW the doorguard I use is the long stripe attach on door edge

I see, thank you so much for your explanation, I suppose I'll just stick to a monthly/bi-monthly car wash with wax (I don't really like to spend too much effort on a car either).

I was watching a X50 modded with sticker yesterday and the owner did say that if there's any accident/bump, the sticker might chip out the original paint altogether (not surprising considering any accidents would do the same), but the thought of having to go back to do sticker guy to touch up again is...(im too lazy for that!)

Re the door guard, I saw a similar one (chrome colour), will definitely get one of those as it doesn't stick out as much as the normal rubber-tube looking door guard haha! biggrin.gif

Then those amount spent on coating/film doesn't make your car resale value to be any better say within 10 years,
Even if it does have better value, it won't be anywhere near the initial investment you've spent.

But if you were some OCD who felt really hurt finding any paint chips or car paint losing shine and you have few thousands ringgit extra to spare,
then why not?  thumbsup.gif
*
yup you have a point, personally don't really care much about the resale value, more like its personal OCD and satisfaction haha!

I'd probably just go for tint + ppf for starters, will see! Long way to go before I get my hands on the car!

I have waited 1 year, hope newer batches come early  thumbsup.gif
Just place a booking first, if you don't want later still cancel, but if u keep dragging there could be chances that u could have missed the SST tax holiday, and hope by that time more things got fixed better like Driver side mirror maybe can turn outwards even more.
So far Wind noise my batch seems solved ady
*
Placed my booking last Sunday haha!

The 2021 X50 premium variant that I test drive was pretty quiet, couldn't even notice any wind noise even at 130 km/h (even my friends in the car couldn't notice it).

Hopefully that was fixed! (I also finally understood why many complaint about the driver side mirror, it is indeed, about 10-15% shy of the optimum viewing angle for me)

What I did was buy key fob cover, door guard, boot tray, magnetic sunshade, floor mats.

Still undecided on which tint to buy & if I wanna install door visors or not
*
Thanks for this! You got all of them from local accessory stores or online (Shopee/Lazada)?

By the way, does the local accessory stores (say like Brothers) have a lot of accessory variety for X50? or not much yet?

QUOTE(zero5177 @ Nov 17 2021, 10:21 AM)
Yeah Keyfob cover can consider as it is freaking huge, easily get scratched with its smooth surface.

Tinted at first I plan to get 3M Crystalline, in the end I ended with IrisPro cost me about 1.2k++ inc sunroof. So far quite happy about it.
*
Will keep that in mind for the key fob!

How many % TSER is your tint? (correct me if im wrong but JPJ limit is 80%? but realistically what is the "optimum" TSER that won't trigger abang polis kacau? tongue.gif )

I've been seeing a lot of good reviews on the 3M Crystalline, though I've never physically seen any of it before yet.

Until today still stuck in the dilemma of Flagship vs Premium icon_question.gif

Premium has everything that I want - except for:
(1) Dual tone colour - understand that the black roof can be achieved with a roof wrap (really digging the White + black roof combo!)
(2) Blind spot camera - never used one before but seems useful - is it really the case?
(3) ADAS - not so much for autonomous cruise, but for the near-collision warning and auto-brake feature (or at least speed reduction before manual intervention kicks in)
(4) Direct Injection (versus MPI engine) - understand that it can give more Torque + acceleration, but does it come at a cost of shorter lifespan/higher maintenance?

Some considerations/worries for getting the Flagship:
1. More parts (sunroof, ADAS system etc.) - technically would equate to more maintenance required in the long run, but if my plan is to sell before 7 years - i shouldn't have anything to worry right?
2. Sunroof water leaking - SA told me some of his clients that constantly park under the sun faced this issue, though almost 100% of the time I park under basement, I guess not an issue too?
3. Longer waiting time - not that this matters, but SA says Flagship will be slower than Premium, not sure by how much

I am leaning towards Flagship at the moment, but appreciate if anyone has any opinion/comment on their (or friends') experience with Flagship so far, thanks! notworthy.gif

I use those maggie mee coil.

Heard from accessory shop that Trapomat will curve a little after long exposure to heat, but he only sell coil mat, so he could be just twisting stories.

Any Trapomat owner can give review?

Interested to know too. I might be going their physical store this weekend to get a closer look at them!

Depends what you like I think, I like the carpet look instead of honeycomb plastic look 😅

Haha true also, though from using maggie mat for the past 5-6 years, I never noticed its presence eh (maybe coz its grey and conceal itself with the dark gray floor)

Anyways i will go Trapo physical branch look-see-touch-see xD see whats the hype all about haha! tongue.gif

Got my new white FS yesterday.

Tyre pressure at ~290 kPa, understand this is standard for the stocks, should i continue using or release it ~220 as per the provided guide?

Also, was surveying dashcam, seen a lot 70Mai and iRoad - which are you guys using? Would be interested to read some malaysian x50 reviews here!

290kpa is very high, you can check at door for the recommended pressure, I kept mine around 230kpa, when running it will goes up to about 240kpa when temperature shoot up.

I got myself DDPAI Z40 due to it was capacitor based which should be more durable.
*
Tyre - yours started with ~230 from the get-go? Or you released the air?

Dash cam - looks like i got a lot of reading to do! Thanks for the heads up

Do you guys subscribe to any car wash package in Klang Valley?

I want to go for a 2-3 weekly car wash to protect my coating; too lazy to wash it myself tongue.gif
