it is clearly more superior option to HRV and always mocking its AWD as an disadvantages rather than some extra features you can get with just a small price different. All the other fancy electronics in X50 like ADAS also have tendency to fail but nobody talks about it.
XV and HRV acceleration wise not much different, XV is about 150kg heavier but it has a bigger 2.0 direct injection engine, the power to weight ratio is just 1.5% less for XV.
AWD will benefit you everywhere, Yes the HRV came with ESC and stuff which might be sufficient but it will never beat the Superiority of the AWD no matter how you look at it.
The AWD built in it is an advantage, not a disadvantages, and it won't broke down easily like some suggested, rear differential oil change don't cost you a bomb
forgotten about drive train losses?
purely acceleration even pickup from standstill, AWD is always at a disadvantage unless you're in a sports car like R35 GTR (that have a really odd AWD system btw lol)
more losses would actually be overall fuel economy and added weight from the AWD system.
AWD is not always an advantage, and added diff/transfer case (some have center diffs) oil changes are added costs to consumer nonetheless, and drive shafts are wear and tear item and replacing 2 more pieces are also an additional cost.
there is no denying the advantages of AWD, however to say it is completely flawless without disadvantages is just wrong.
