In conclusion, QDlink is a shite stopgap alternative from Proton to a proper Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Why cant they see this is the future of driving experience? Almost all if not all major car brands have adapted and implemented these into their car system. And yet we're missing out on the simplest of things.
Even their own GKUI is a piece of disappointing shit with stupid unreadable fonts and theme and unrecognized Navigation accent, to call a few. That tells how clueless their software engineers are, or whichever startup company they gave the tender to to maintain the software.
I guess we got what we paid for huh...
You've answered your own question buddy... you can't get a car with better value with RM103k. They're in a position to give us shitty software and we'll still buy the car!
Hi everyone, new X50 owner here. I noticed that whenever I'm using ICC, I'll hear some clicks. I believe it sounds like the click only happens when the car is activating the breaks to slow the car down. It's not very loud but clearly noticeable. Doesn't happen on normal driving. Anyone else having this issue or is this something I have to be concerned about? Thanks in advance!

Can someone assist to advise what the below highlighted means? I've tried turning it on via the infotainment system. Does it mean that my car will horn and flash lights when I lock my car? Because I still only get lights feedback when I lock my car. Thanks!
Just curious, how many of you have decided to go without coating for your new car? I'm personally leaning towards just waxing instead. My reasoning is that I've never had a car that did not require redoing the entire bodywork after 5-6 years. And the damage is usually bigger than what the coating can protect - motorbike deep scratches, accidental bumps, dents while other cars opening and hitting my car etc.
Me too, Turtle wax seal n shine works well for the past few weeks for me. I’ve decided not go for coating after youtube algo recommended this longetivity test of coating and wax https://youtu.be/f7Nua1sSsnA
Btw, what brand of water spot removal product you use? The rear proton emblem part easy to get waterspot.
wow thanks! that's a great vid. Tempted to try out the soft99 fusso wax now.
mine was unable to connect for the past day , i am using an iphone se gen 2 and original apple cable
Usually works fine with occasional disconnects. not super stable in my opinion.
Not QDLink Related - My only issue now is with the built in maps. When I press search, and attempt to look for a location... it will just crash the whole map application. Happens every time. However if I were to use "Hi Proton" and dictate where I wanna go, it's fine. So annoying.

with ICC on, how to make it stop and go according to front car movement? my ICC will stop, but wont follow the front car moving ahead
Stop and go only works if the car in front is not moving for less than 3 seconds. If at a traffic light for example, chances are you will have to manually accelerate to get it going again.

Hi guys, can I know with variant does have the longest waiting list or all variant need to wait 6 month to get the car?
Fact: All variants have to wait more than 6 months to get a car.. unless you're lucky or know someone on the inside.
I've heard rumours that Flagship has quite a backlog lately. But I can't verify this.
Have you guys come across the side auxiliary sensor failure? The BLIS icon will turn red. I encounter this few times over 6 months period and it will goes off within a minute (turn back to green - normal).
Happened while I was driving once. But it was a very foggy morning. Not sure if the water vapour was on the sensors and messing with it. Touch wood, haven't had issues since then.
yes, i discovered that also; now i use ICC as much as possible, even in taman, just steer only
I've resorted to change it to ACC mode only. Didn't really like having the ICC around unless it's on a big straight highway. However with MCO it's mostly just town or taman driving and I prefer to steer myself.
Hi, want to ask is X50 come wirh free 1 year joox vip?
No worries all you have to do is share on Instagram every day (then delete) to get 24HR VIP.. and check in to get coins which can be changed for VIP status.
can you try use joox when connected to your house wifi? it doesnt work for me on home wifi; cos i wanted to dl songs for offline play, save the free 1GB for other use
I haven't had the chance to try yet. What do you use the 1GB for anyways?
Guys is it worth to take new x50 ? I'm using for family car and also work as well (required some spacious back booth). Friend told me x50 or x70 got alot issue and also no spare part etc. Can someone enlightened me ? Thanks
I've heard of people who booked last year October/Nov still not getting their car. So you could be in for a long wait. If you're lucky, you might get to skip a few slots if someone cancels. But don't expect to get the car within 6 months. As for family vehicle, can I ask how big is your family and what is their age? I personally have a baby that's 10 months and my height is 178cm. If my Chicco child seat is behind me, I have to move my seat in a slightly uncomfortable position. The boot can probably fit 1 big luggage and barely anything else after that. If you were to put a stroller in there you can maybe squeeze in another small hand carry luggage. Space is quite limited. For a small family, say 1 child I would say it's fine.. if you have 2 then it might be difficult to travel with. Car is superb based on the fact that it only costs 103k. After adding on the power tailgate and tint you're looking at close to 110k on the road which is not too bad. Overall I'm satisfied with the car. However, try not to put too much expectations into the aftersales service.... it is still a Proton.
I want to find out the 1st 1k km service, is that a time limit say a month. I looked at the service booklet, it didn't state it is within 1 month. For subsequent services, it is 10k km or 6 months whichever comes first. I registered my car on 31 May just before the MCO kicked in on 1 June. My car was delivered to me on 9 September (> 3 months later). Currently, my mileage is 200km. So, do I need to do the service for 1k km service before 8 October or it would affects my warranty. Kindly enlightened me. Thanks.
I've gotten conflicting information about this one. Some say it's 1 month. But if you check the booklet there are no specific mentioning of '1 month' for the first service'. My personal experience with my SC is that I did (actually another friend of mine did the same as well) my first servicing at 3 months because it did not hit the 1000 km mark. No issues from the service center regarding warranty or fees.

Not the first time. Back when he was selling the QD Link hack he also liked to pretend that he's not the owner. lol. I have no issues with selling at whatever price you want. Just don't pretend to be someone else. It's not nice.
Anyone knows how to fix the black bumper color? I have some white marks at the bumper as I accidentally grazed it while I was moving some heavy stuff from my car trunk.
Is it a deep scratch or just grazed on surface? If it's just light surface discolouration you can try Cerakote Trim coating.
For the high pitch noise, I can't say much because my car doesn't have it even when I first received it with 0 modifications so I do not have personal experience solving it. I do experienced it in my friend's X50. Both of us are first batch users, same old side mirror.
But I did hear and read some comments saying putting foam/insulators in tweeter solves it (or maybe reduced it significantly like you mentioned) during discussions at mega TT or in telegram & facebook. I think one of the first SC that implement this method was 3S Kelana Jaya HZN. And also read some comments that the new batch (batch with the new side mirror design) do not experience this issue anymore, or maybe they're just the lucky ones.
Don't think Proton will do recalls just for side mirror unless safety is a concern. But what you can do is to go to SC and complain about the wind noise (high pitch or wind flap or both), and they may have an internal memo/notice/work instructions to solve the noise and when all test fails, the last option mentioned in that is to change the side mirror (wind flap noise, not sure about high pitch). If your SC says nothing can be done without doing anything, then change your SC. I heard HZN Kelana Jaya and Jawira Balakong will try to solve it. But take note that changing side mirror may not be the magic fix that solves the issue entirely.
My whistling noise was due to the windscreen. They just somewhat diagnosed it couple of weeks ago. But not the headache comes if they change the windscreen I'll have to end up reapplying my tint film and RFID stickers. So annoying. Haven't had the time to bring it to the 4S center yet to do fixing.
