And this notification too, everytime I plug in my phone to charge. Can I just uninstall the ES from HU?

Anyone can share whats the optimal settings for AA? I tried changing resolution to 1080 but its super laggy, like 10-20 seconds delay. Is it because of my AA version or my HUR version?

Hi guys, I have never experienced a proper built in Android Auto system before so I'm not sure what is the norm and this is my first experience.

Currently, to use AA, I connect my phone using data transfer cable to the USB jack in my car. Once connected, my phone shows "Android Auto is running" and HUR auto launch in my headunit, showing Waze.

1) Audio quality seems not crispy (waze directions), kinda like radio with bad reception. Current settings is that audio transferred to my HU instead of BT connection. Should I change to BT?

2) HUR keep showing the popup notification at the top screen of my HU when navigating, constantly updating distance to next turn/junction. Very annoying, how to disable this?

3) How do I use AA wirelessly? Sometimes prefer to not connect my phone via USB cable. Saw people mentioning Autokit or something, do I need to buy that to use AA wirelessly? What about Wifi Launcher? (Currently using Android phone)

1. Are you using HUR v6.3 RC3? Tried with just cable the sound quality is not too bad. At least not radio with bad reception. Related to any EQ that you used? If you want try with bluetooth see what works for you.

2. HUR there's a setting* to disable popup notification. If it doesn't work, disable the same notification from your phone side.

3. Autokit.apk paired with Carlinkit is more for CarPlay.
AA wireless - Available via HUR. Except it's many steps everytime.
Wifi Launcher - Reduces the number of steps.

Check this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjH3GvP1tms

Thanks. Will try them out.

2) Is it "Disable toast messages"?

No, you need to install Hidden Settings app on the HU, open the app to access classic Android settings interface. Navigate to Apps>Headunit Reloaded then uncheck "Show Notifications" for Headunit Reloaded.

Just sent my Proton X50 for 60k service and requested to change side mirror yesterday. But due to cny balik kampung busy schedule, they had no time to do my side mirrors.

I requested to change to new design side mirror due to 2 issues: driver blind spot and wind turbulence noise.

They arranged an appointment after cny to do inspection and reporting (they need to perform tests and submit report before getting the parts). After report done, will have to go SC again for the new side mirrors installation. Hopefully the noise can be reduced with the new design. Will update here again

My battery lasted 23 months, dragged another 3 weeks (by using power bank if unable to start car) and then finally replaced with Amaron DIN60L @ RM 375, and eligible for 10% coins cashback from Shopee. Bateriku quoted RM 630 for the premium brand Varta, DIN60

I have just tried to use AA wireless using Wifi Launcher (GKUI). Apparently it connects to my HU hotspot so does it mean my phone and HU will be consuming my car's data quota?

btw i think one other issue that should be known is the driveshaft noise, the "kluk kluk" when braking and going over bumps
read on FB that Proton have a memo out about it, but seems some SC dont know about it?
*
QUOTE(josh5671 @ Mar 6 2023, 09:47 AM)
FB claim everything.....anyone show the so called 'memo'?
last time even got tons of people claim door seal can fix the wind noise, while that time i claim sidemirror design problem and people try to twist my word.

not sure about the driveshaft.. but i think the tie rod on x50 will be fail real fast.
*
I actually saw someone shared the photo of memo before, but I didn't save the post or photo. it was quite some time ago.

I went to 2 SC and both of them have this memo (Jawira Balakong & VR Green) and the Service Advisor showed me. There's also a memo about the wind noise issue where if after investigation and minor troubleshooting and the noise still persists, they will change the side mirror to the new model. Now I'm still waiting for the part to arrive, hopefully with the new side mirror, wind noise will be reduced significantly

im like 10mins away from VR Green, do you have the SA contact? so that they'll know what I'm talking about
*
Sry, I don't remember their names and for VR Green, I only went once. Decided not to return as they mentioned there's labour charges if there's any disassembly during inspection regardless the issue was identified/solved or not. But you can try call/whatsapp them and mention about the "gluk gluk" noise.

But take note that it's not immediate if you mentioned the issue and the SA will arrange drive shaft replacement. They will inspect first by driving through speed bumps (and/or other ways), and once identify the root cause (drive shaft usually), they will submit the report to HQ and wait for the part to reach the SC and then you'll need to go again for replacement

Just want to ask if anyone here have replaced their car battery? Mine finally give up just shy of 2 years of ownership. And it took the workshop almost an hour just to remove the covers including the air intake box just to replace that battery stuck to the back of the engine bay.

Seriously just to rant this design is ridiculous to make owners life difficult, now imagine if you are stuck in the middle of the road without all the necessary tools while stuffing the battery to the back of the engine is a bad idea since battery lifespan will fare worst due to heat compared to placing it closer to the front (even with that X50 battery cloth sleeve). Sigh! Trying out the Indian 'Exide' battery lets just hope it last longer.
*
Yup, I agree troublesome design. But my installer took around 15 minutes. Can't really remember whether did he took out the air intake or not though. Could be your installer inexperienced.

will be watching for amaron stocks, mine is coming over 2 years now... and some place hve camel or varta?
*
I think you can ask bateriku to quote first, depending on stock available. I was quoted varta din60, RM 630. It was quite expensive so I settled for Amaron DIN60 RM 360 (since Amaron battery lasted 5 years on my previous car, hopefully the quality now is as good as before). I'm avoiding Camel brand now lol

Anyone tried installing and confirm this statement, ie. noisier? I still have whistling noise on driver side but gotten used to it, plus it is at certain speed only. City drive hardly hear anything. Long distance always have music on... so, no issues. But would not want to add additional "music" with the visor installation though.
Whistling noise can be solved, go to your SC and complain and they will be likely to put some dampener/sponge/insulator in tweeter. This is what they do for quite some time ago, not sure whether is there any new approach or not.

But there's another wind noise, sort of wind flapping noise which is caused by side mirror design. This can be reduced (if you are early batch) by changing to new batch side mirror. I'm still in the process of changing, hopefully will get positive results

There only one wind noise problem, side mirror.
you filling silicon into tweeter section also wont help. as that frequency of sound almost penetrate everything, so filling something there just deduct not eliminate it.
thats why most people that fill-in claim it not so work.
*
QUOTE(christ14 @ Apr 8 2023, 08:14 PM)
so its still changing the best option?

Nop, there's 2 wind noise problem, whistling (high pitch) noise and wind flapping noise.

For the high pitch noise, I can't say much because my car doesn't have it even when I first received it with 0 modifications so I do not have personal experience solving it. I do experienced it in my friend's X50. Both of us are first batch users, same old side mirror.

But I did hear and read some comments saying putting foam/insulators in tweeter solves it (or maybe reduced it significantly like you mentioned) during discussions at mega TT or in telegram & facebook. I think one of the first SC that implement this method was 3S Kelana Jaya HZN. And also read some comments that the new batch (batch with the new side mirror design) do not experience this issue anymore, or maybe they're just the lucky ones.

Don't think Proton will do recalls just for side mirror unless safety is a concern. But what you can do is to go to SC and complain about the wind noise (high pitch or wind flap or both), and they may have an internal memo/notice/work instructions to solve the noise and when all test fails, the last option mentioned in that is to change the side mirror (wind flap noise, not sure about high pitch). If your SC says nothing can be done without doing anything, then change your SC. I heard HZN Kelana Jaya and Jawira Balakong will try to solve it. But take note that changing side mirror may not be the magic fix that solves the issue entirely.

My whistling noise was due to the windscreen. They just somewhat diagnosed it couple of weeks ago. But not the headache comes if they change the windscreen I'll have to end up reapplying my tint film and RFID stickers. So annoying. Haven't had the time to bring it to the 4S center yet to do fixing.
*
Ohh? Have to change the whole windscreen? Not the sealing?

I complain that the Side Mirror not able to extend the desired angle causing blindspot and dangerous + there is wind noise at high speed.

BTW all parts took 6 months to arrive.. Rain Sensor + 2 side mirror

I'm not paying for anything.
*
Same issues, wind noise and extension angle. Mine has been 4 months and have to restart the damn process last week due to incompetent Service Advisor and case handover issue. So now have to wait for god knows when for my new side mirrors

QUOTE(josh5671 @ May 22 2023, 05:23 PM)
i do the same complain few time, they 'tested' and confirm 'work as designed'
may help to ask your SC if wanna to buy that sidemirror parts how much will cost. just parts and screw that needed.
*
I suggest you to change SC, as there's actually memo on the wind noise (wind turbulance noise at >80kmh), which is to replace with new side mirror, if you are using first model side mirror. No need to fork out own money to buy when you can claim for free. I try to ask for the memo or reference no., cant promise they'll share to me or not though

Finally get to claim new side mirror from Proton.
I was one of the first batch owner with the side mirror wind noise problem. The new side mirror have minor bump that deflect the wind away from hitting our windows.
The right side mirror can also turn outwards more for better view.

However, what I did not anticipate is after changing the side mirror, my 360 view gone kaput both left and right side. It does not align anymore.
After SC calibrate, the view got worse! Now my front and rear camera view are lowered, left and right view not balance.

Anyone know if we can calibrate the 360 camera manually?
I've only managed to see "auto calibrate" in settings.

P.S-my HU is still GKUI btw
*
Same issue happened to me. Changed my side mirror (1st batch) to the newer model and my 360 camera misaligned. If I park nicely in a parking box, I can see the lines at left and right slighlty bent outwards.

That SC asked me to do calibration in COE as both SC claimed only COE has the equipment to do a proper calibration. Did the calibration and now 360 is back to normal.

Hey guys, mine is now 2.5yrs ~38K mileage. So far so good except 1x battery replacement, and driveshaft noise..

Two questions
1. What is the conclusion on next tyres replacement? Went to shop in Ampang Jaya and they quoted RM760/pc for Primacy 4 but I'm aiming PS4S
2. where to do alignment & balancing around Ampang/KL Cheras area? Lowest quote I got was RM85 for alignment and balancing..

Thanks
*
Tyre replacement subject to usage and requirements. I changed from C UC6 to M Primacy 4 ST at 70,000 km, as 3 years anniversary present to my car lol.

Thread was still ok, but I still changed them as UC6 wet grip was not so good, sometimes minor skid at toll road paint marking (smart tag / rfid / tng). Bought them at average RM 490/pc. So far quite satisfied with its performance but that's just my personal opinion.
