So accompanied my friend to test both x50 and city. Hel already booked the city. As much as the x50 360 camera is fugly, the one on city (reverse n lane monitoring cam) is worse. Succeeded on memprotonkan my friend.

Can't believe coming out from proton car then went into honda car feel like a downgrade.

My girlfriend is driving the new City. Funny thing is the side camera is only on the left mirror.

But yes the reverse and side camera is quite pixelated. The Proton X50 does a better job with their cameras surprisingly.

EDIT: But honestly on the new City, Apple CarPlay is really effortless and smooth. Pretty sad that the X50 doesn’t have a better infotainment system for the price paid. Hoping that there’s an update in the future to support.

Seems like the SST Exemption is not getting extended.

I called my SA, he also mentioned he's not sure on the pricing next year.
But a lot of his customers (including me) also macam won't get the car this year cause production is pretty limited.

If it's not getting extended then haih, oh well, get 2021 car instead.

My SA also like that. Explained that if faster want the car, add the package. I said cannot la, no use for me. Then said for the next car allocation at the dealer, my name is on the top list. Should get the car by the end of this month.

If by the end of this month also cannot get car, maybe consider to cancel buying the car altogether...

If you're not in a rush, can consider 2021 car also.
Depreciation lets say 10% aka RM10K.
Price without SST exemption maybe roughly 5-6K difference?

Will stand to 'save' RM4-5K when you let go of the car (eventually).

This is my plan if the SA really cannot guarantee this year, I'll just ask him to get it by CNY or something.

That 's the main issue that has been bothering me. If can save, save a bit la. 5-6k is quite substantial amount for some people in order to topup after the SST exemption finished...

You know what would be REALLY funny?
If the price didn't increase after SST exemption, instead, Proton will maintain the same price as 2020.

Can totally see it coming as a marketing ploy.

I believe not really a huge different after SST since we have to add the additional accessories package if want to get car by this year  sad.gif

The accessories package thing is nonsense.

I got a colleague who just got hers yesterday, but it’s Executive so maybe less demand, easier to get the car.

Talked to my SA yesterday to follow up. From what he told me, manufacturing is lagging behind.

They’re the main dealer but yet, only managed to deliver 18 cars so far for November. His boss told him that those that booked on the launch day will get the car by the year la but you know I know words are just words lol.

Patiently waiting in the meanwhile.

Just wait and pay more I guess.

By December, most dealers usually won't have stock anymore to deliver by the end of the year unless it's an 'unpopular' model/colour/spec.

I checked on the X70 back in early November and SA said delivery around 2-3 months if book on the spot then and there.

If you really want to look for other cars, better start now haha.

SA just gave me a call confirming I'm probably not getting the car this year.

30 cars incoming, all Flagship, multiple colours.
But for my colour, White, I'm number 20+ lol.

Gg, see what happens next year.

Anyone has lately gotten their loan approved? What is the interest rate for 5 or 7 years?

Mbb offered 2.29% and 2.30% respectively.
*
MBB 5 year 2.24%
CIMB/Proton 5 year 2.25%

Really depends on how many commitments you have to determine your interest rate.
I have a separate home loan with MBB also for what it's worth.
