For me, I have to take the optional package to get the car earlier. White flagship, cash.

Just got the car today, white flagship. Overall love the car very much. I think no need to mention the positive aspects about the car as everyone already knows. So i'll just list down some of the negatives/quality issues here:

1. 360 camera quality really sucks, just like my other 3rd gen Myvi.

2. Driver's side mirror angle adjustment too limited (issue already mentioned by someone in previous post).

3. Door assembly/fittings slightly not aligned. Same with some chrome trims.






I'm not complaining, just pointing out there's still room for improvement in terms of quality.

Booked on 16 Sept morning.

I just checked the owners manual. It only mention the top speed for MPI engine, which is 190km/h (GDI 195km/h). There's no mention about 0-100 time.

I have not driven many cars but I can feel x50 is way more powerful than a civic 1.8 that I'm very familiar with.

Adding to the list of defects.

Washed and did some detailing on the car just now.
Although there's minor defects here and there that I mentioned previously, overall I would say the build quality is noticeably better than my previous 8th gen Civic and current gen Myvi.

Very little squeaky panels, solid build and clever design.

Ok la.



Tip: apply a layer of wax on the satin chrome and it will shine nicely.

Charging the battery to maintain battery health. Both x70 and x50 drain battery even when the car is off and locked.

Nope, didn't unwrap the cover. So far no issues with Proton link.


Is there a way to know the battery percentage? I only know Proton link will notify if battery running low. I travel short distances that's why need to charge periodically.


Speaker sound quality is very subjective. What I can say is x50 is better than the new Myvi and my old 8th gen Civic. But still way behind my brother's Mazda 6. Overall the sound is good enough for me.

Yes, you don't have to switch off aircon before turning off engine. When next time you start the car, you will notice the aircon will only turn on moments later after ignition.

Yes, correct. Therefore I never switch off the aircon.

Nope. Because the system will automatically start your engine first before starting the aircon (therefore not putting too much strain on the battery and starter). Besides, the user manual also never mention that you have to ensure the aircon is off before starting the car.

Of course. Even Myvi can do that. Your contact list will also be synchronized. If want to make a call, just say "Hi Proton, call 0121234567".

Been driving both x70 and x50 lately. Can feel x50 is much more responsive when moving from standstill.

The audio quality is also much better than x70. I'm still trying hard to get the right equaliser settings for x70 but x50 is just good out of the box.

The only things I like about x70 are the comfortable Nappa leather seats and better resolution cameras.

I can only think of few possibilities:
- not driving the car everyday
- too short distance drives
- play too much of the infotainment system while the engine is off
- not locking the car (manual says leaving the car unlocked drain more battery than locked)
- faulty battery?

This guy also agrees with me - x50 audio quality better. He's also an owner of a x70.

But the manual says 5000km...

Anyone received message from service centre about recall program for x50? It does not mention about which part though.
